@Mike Appelstein - This German trip was meant to happen the summer of 2020, planned back in 2019, but of course we all know what happened to 2020 plans. Finally got the plan off the ground again, though this time my cousins are more spread out in north and south, hence doing Berlin and Hamburg as well this time

Nice! Some bank cards are good too. I use a credit union in Bellingham, WA, and they work a lot with Canada and have that down really good for international whatnots.

I love collecting roses on ice bonus level. I have left that on for hours with the screen turned off just to see how many roses I can collect and it appears to be infinite

HOW does that taste/smell like food to her?! She loves running on the beach at night, but she hooves up sand, so we really have to keep a close eye on her!

@.Fräncis - oh man, I had a yellow lab in the 90s 'til the late 2000s. I know the pain of labs and their tiger shark-like appetites!

Yeah - baby shark phase goes from 6 months - to 3 years...

@.Fräncis - Mine never chomped a whole bullfrog...that I KNOW of! She loved running in the woods near where I lived at the time, and lord knows she ate some things I didn't notice! She managed to never get herself sick or land herself in the vet hospital!

Liz - LOL, your dog probably even hates pretzel and bread with noisome mustard on them, hahaha. Sand seems less smelly to your dog, since she eats them up, like seeing some dogs eatting stuff like cotton from toys!

My cousin's dog ate a piece of pancake and loved it. Yeah, depending on your nose, sand can be all kinds of variant smelly, be it the salty water, food docks etc

@.Fräncis - Now my old BEAGLE on the other hand...He managed to swallow two dozen rich German dark chocolate cupcakes cooling on the counter, made by my grandmom, while we all went out for my dad's birthday dinner, (this was decades ago.) A visit to the Ryan Vet Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and a stomach-pumping later, and he was okay!

@.Fräncis / @Ossy - I should note: BOTH dogs lived a very long time! The lab made it to 15, and the beagle was insanely old: 19! He was a freak of nature, honestly. He was always looking for trouble. An escape artist as well. Could climb fences!

@Ossy - I don't think she even thinks pretzels are food. Most bread doesn't register as food to her. She runs over to it, sniffs it, and walks away disinterested. She'll eat carrots, begrudgingly, but she recognizes them as food at least. Now if there's something ON the bread, like cheese on pizza crust, then the whole thing is suddenly a delicious treat to her

@Carlos Ramone. - Will do! I think I will be in over my head, beer-wise! They even have different glasses for every type of beer in Germany, and I'm sure I will commit beer-related gaffes and be informed I was not meant to chill such and such a beer, or I poured it wrong or used the wrong glass, but whatever. I'm gonna eat the hell outta those biergarten pretzels, tho

Those are remarkable long lives for your dogs, and find it funny some dogs don't reconize some real food, but inorganic and unedible stuff are. Oh yeah, can't go wrong with melted cheese on pizza or jelly...which I doubt is edible

@Ossy - Yeah, I have been lucky, knock on wood. My golden also made it to 15, though her last year wasn't so great. My lab was OBSESSED with butter. If someone opened a packet of butter from the fridge, despite it not having a strong smell, she KNEW immediately no matter how far away she was. She would come running down the stairs to get to that butter as fast as possible!

@Ossy - She DID manage to get an entire stick of butter in her maw once, she was so agile and adept at standing on her hind legs and pulling food towards her that had been left in the middle of a fairly large tall table!

Liz - Butter does smell pretty great, and makes sense of your dog to come running to it at fast pace..probably with scary barking LOL

@Danosaur🦖 - I know this is no where near Pasadena, but I'm fascinated by survival stories. Did you hear about the guy who went for a hike in the Santa Cruz Mountain and got lost for 10 days?! He was found okay due to using his boot to collect water!

People get lost frequently here in the San Gabriel Mountains. It's so close to the city they forget it's just wilderness

@Roffle /@Danosaur🦖 - In Hawaii going up the Haleakala Volcano by car, we saw some tour groups of cyclists and some of them were a bit wobbly. The guide mentioned there are always some ppl in the bike tour who sign up and then realize too late they haven't biked in years and sorta forgot how!

You want to ease into riding a bike if you haven't done it in a while

I see that here too. I saw a Hasidic field trip on bikes that was hilarious because none of them knew how to ride a bike. Priceless!

Maybe because Operation was more fun, with all the colorful silly body parts like bones that look like dog biscuits, whereas Concentration was just stress and nothing more! It felt like some invisible observer was testing you from behind one-way glass!

@Carlos Coachella used to be pretty chill when I went in the late 90's - early 2000's. Now it's crazy and really expensive

@Roffle - yeah, I mean I grew up in the 'burbs outside Philly, and while there was a train stop that brought me to Center City in 11 minutes, which was wonderful, I still relied on my bike to get to friends' houses, movies, and everywhere else. I didn't have a car in college or when I lived in Center City, but got a used junker in South Philly, and then had a baby and really needed a functional car! That was the end of biking for me for quite some time!
