Rob from Maryland 🦅 5:07:03 PM
Hallo Lizbot (host)!
Rob from Maryland 🦅 5:07:31 PM
How nice! Where in Germany are you going?
Lizbot (host) 5:07:51 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦅 - Landing in Berlin, then west to Hamburg, then south to Dusseldorf, then Stuttgart (where is a multi-day music/culture festival,) then all over Bavaria
Lizbot (host) 5:11:46 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦅 - Also fitting in one day in Salzburg and seeing the Von Trapp house!
Lizbot (host) 5:14:01 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦅 - I know hardly any German, despite my grandmom and cousins being fluent!
Lizbot (host) 5:15:57 PM

Lizbot (host) 5:16:03 PM
To be specific!
DSM. 5:30:02 PM
Good evening Lizbot and Rob! 3 weeks in Germany sounds lovely. And oddly, I am consuming a 5 variety Getman salat plate right now!
Lizbot (host) 5:30:36 PM
Hi DSM!
Lizbot (host) 5:31:30 PM
@DSM - Oooh, how is it? I fear some of the bratwursts and currywursts, but I wouldn't mind a good salat
DSM. 5:32:48 PM
Quite delicious! We made them yesterday inspired by a visit to the Vontrapp brewery last week. I love pickled and vinegary things.
Mike Appelstein 5:33:14 PM
Cool
Lizbot (host) 5:33:30 PM
Hi Mike Appelstein!
DSM. 5:33:35 PM
Yeah some of them wursts… not sure whats in there sometimes
Mike Appelstein 5:33:53 PM
To hear you are going to Germany. Scotland and Amsterdam for us, early Aug
Lizbot (host) 5:35:28 PM
@Mike Appelstein - Oooh, I'd love to go to Scotland! Do you know Eva Hanna who used to DJ at WPRB? She's living in the Marchmont section of Edinburgh
Lizbot (host) 5:36:08 PM
@DSM - Yeaaaah. Even the salat has a lotta meat sometimes! My grandmom was German and she loved a good potato salad. She also made some pretty great anise cookies
Mike Appelstein (1) 5:36:22 PM
I do not. We will mostly be in Glasgow soaking up
Lizbot (host) 5:36:36 PM
@DSM. - I DO love pickled things!
Mike Appelstein (1) 5:36:41 PM
The B&S fun times
Lizbot (host) 5:37:24 PM
@Mike Appelstein - My brother-in-law went around 2019 and visited a little island off the coast of Scotland utterly covered in puffins...forget the name
Lizbot (host) 5:38:49 PM
@Mike Appelstein - I REALLY wanted to go to that show, but they announced it just after I made this Germany trip plan with my cousins. Had to coordinate this a waaaays back. Visiting a few family members
Mike Appelstein (1) 5:39:30 PM
We’re missing Glas Goes Pop tho
Lizbot (host) 5:40:11 PM
@Mike Appelstein - Mad I missed the Boaty Weekender too, but THAT was announced shortly after I made Ireland trip plans for summer 2019 - the last time I was in Europe!
Lizbot (host) 5:41:11 PM
@Mike Appelstein - Speaking of Scotland, Anna Meredith, who I'm playing right now, is Scottish. Almost saw one of her pieces performed by Bang On a Can for their LongPlay Festival in NYC in the spring, but got sick that weekend!
Mike Appelstein 5:41:12 PM
Hey, you were still traveling. Can’t be mad about that
Lizbot (host) 5:41:25 PM
@Mike Appelstein - True!
Lizbot (host) 5:41:53 PM
@Mike Appelstein - How many ppl at Boaty Weekender did you run into that you knew??
Mike Appelstein 5:42:39 PM
A ton! People from the US, Britain, Japan; Australia
Mike Appelstein 5:42:53 PM
It was kind of a central meeting point
Roffle 5:42:56 PM
I love and hate worlwinds myself.Be prepared or be prepared to spend money has been my experience with trips. I hope you have a great adventure!
Lizbot (host) 5:44:06 PM
Hi Roffle!
Roffle 5:44:19 PM
Cool tunes by the by...
Mike Appelstein 5:44:32 PM
I rarely see old friends here in the Midwest, so NYC and these popfests are great reunions
Lizbot (host) 5:45:10 PM
@Mike Appelstein - I'll bet! A Bowlie reunion would be so great! It was a bit like that for Sparks' 21 Nights fest in Islington in 2008. Ppl from all over Europe, ran into a good number of friends
Lizbot (host) 5:45:22 PM
@Roffle - Thanks!
Lizbot (host) 5:46:19 PM
@Roffle - Yeah, we just ordered Euros from the bank at home to avoid that 3% credit/debit surcharge abroad!
Rob from Maryland 🦅 5:47:34 PM
Hi DSM!
Lizbot (host) 5:47:51 PM
@Mike Appelstein - yeah. At least I got to the Heavenly reunion! That was a real 90s twee reunion! Ran into a lot of old friends and acquaintances!
Rob from Maryland 🦅 5:48:25 PM
Lizbot, your itinerary sounds nice! Fwiw all my German came from Google Translate. I have never studied the language
Lizbot (host) 5:49:14 PM
@Mike Appelstein - This German trip was meant to happen the summer of 2020, planned back in 2019, but of course we all know what happened to 2020 plans. Finally got the plan off the ground again, though this time my cousins are more spread out in north and south, hence doing Berlin and Hamburg as well this time
Roffle 5:49:18 PM
Nice! Some bank cards are good too. I use a credit union in Bellingham, WA, and they work a lot with Canada and have that down really good for international whatnots.
Rob from Maryland 🦅 5:49:36 PM
Hi Mike Appelstein! Speaking of popfests, do you know about Dromfest '24? https://dromedary-records.com/announcing-dromfest-24/
Rob from Maryland 🦅 5:50:46 PM
Scrawl, Antietam, Tuscadero, Sleepyhead, Chris Brokaw Band, and many more will be there in upstate New York. I've never been a festival person, but for this one, there's a small chance I'll go
Lizbot (host) 5:51:02 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦅 - Ah! I have relied on Google Translate pretty heavily while booking this trip. Some menus and websites for the smaller towns don't have an English option!
Lizbot (host) 5:53:19 PM
@Roffle - I should check that out. I know I'll be using a card at points, but I want to at least have cash for incidentals and some of the smaller medieval towns in Bavaria/Baden-Württemberg
Lizbot (host) 5:55:09 PM
@Mike Appelstein - I am envious that you'll be seeing Camera Obscura too!
Roffle 5:57:56 PM
I hear ya, I'll take the CCards from big banks too. They are good over seas and don't charge nonsense transaction fees.
Eduyoung 5:59:56 PM
Love the fireflies songs! It's been a great year for them in NW Philly
Chef Emeril Lagasse 6:01:14 PM
BAM!!!! loved the magnetic fields song!
Lizbot (host) 6:01:35 PM
Hi Eduyoung!
Chef Emeril Lagasse 6:02:09 PM
OMG I WAS JUST PLAYING WE LOVE KATAMARI LAST NIGHT ♥️♥️♥️
Lizbot (host) 6:02:11 PM
Hi Chef Emeril Lagasse! Glad you like it! Fireflies abound!
Lizbot (host) 6:02:58 PM
@Eduyoung - We've been getting a ton in our yard, but there's a huge blanket of them at dusk at Morris Arboretum in Chestnut Hill, down by the waterwheel near the entrance, if you ever get there some summer night
Lizbot (host) 6:03:30 PM
@Chef Emeril Lagasse - !!! This is the game that made me buy a Playstation! The original and then all the sequels
Chef Emeril Lagasse 6:05:57 PM
Yes! Do you have a fav?
Lizbot (host) 6:07:58 PM
@Chef Emeril Lagasse - We Love Katamari, because of all the replay options after you win the levels, and the many cousins you can play. But I love the original too! I love collecting roses on ice bonus level. I have left that on for hours with the screen turned off just to see how many roses I can collect and it appears to be infinite
Lizbot (host) 6:08:52 PM
@Chef Emeril Lagasse - I don't play games often, but I think about that game a lot. Innovative gameplay, incredible soundtrack, so much humor in little moments throughout each level, incredible in both design and play
Ossy 6:09:29 PM
An adorable theme summer show, Sandsbot
Lizbot (host) 6:12:22 PM
Hi OSsy! Thanks! I love Takako Minekawa, and this song feels sun-drenched to me
Lizbot (host) 6:13:03 PM
@Chef Emeril Lagasse - Apparently the Katamari games are part of the permanent collection of video games at MOMA. Didn't know they even had a collection of video games!
Lizbot (host) 6:14:35 PM
@Chef Emeril Lagasse - I also love the FIREFLY camping level! Rolling up fireflies to chill electronic mandolin w/ concertina music on a summer night is "a vibe," as my teen would say!
Ossy 6:15:14 PM
Liz - Totally a song for the beach to gets loads of sandy, ocean and seahshell smells!
Lizbot (host) 6:16:53 PM
@Chef Emeril Lagasse - and rolling animals on the zoo level to the bombastic song "Sunbaked Savanna" by John The Dog, Bigmouth The Duck, Yuuhi The Cow, Pe The Goat, Booby The Pig, Sexy The Cat, And Nyuu The Cow is one of the best video game experiences possible, IMO! I kicked off an early WPRB Membership Drive animal-themed Doubleplusgood show to that song!
Lizbot (host) 6:18:35 PM
@Ossy - haha, tell my dog to inhale fewer seashell smells! Sounds intoxicating and wonderful, but my goofy dog when down the shore with us this past weekend and ATE a mouthful of sand!! Whhhyyyy?! HOW does that taste/smell like food to her?! She loves running on the beach at night, but she hooves up sand, so we really have to keep a close eye on her!
Ossy 6:20:55 PM
Speaking of sandy stuff, one of Tara Sands Pokemon characters! https://www.google.com/search?q=jasmine+pokemon+cute&sca_esv=193f1ef4569f6575&sca_upv=1&rlz=1C1GCEU_enUS1116US1116&udm=2&biw=1298&bih=854&ei=feN9ZviLF9ag5NoPmfO2qAE&ved=0ahUKEwi4vt_D5vyGAxVWEFkFHZm5DRUQ4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=jasmine+pokemon+cute&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiFGphc21pbmUgcG9rZW1vbiBjdXRlSJQMUPUFWOoKcAF4AJABAJgBY6AB_QGqAQE0uAEDyAEA-AEBmAIBoAI7wgIFEAAYgATCAgYQABgIGB7CAgcQABiABBgYmAMAiAYBkgcBMaAHtQM&sclient=gws-wiz-serp
Ossy 6:22:08 PM
WOW, was your dog fine after eating an ice cream lot of sand!? LMAO. Dogs tend to eat almost anything, ahahaha
Ossy 6:22:39 PM
Also more smells from starfish, oysters, clams, crabs etc etc
Lizbot (host) 6:25:29 PM
@Ossy - My dog turns up her nose at a pretzel or most bread that falls on the ground, YET she cannot resist the taste...and TEXTURE?!...of sand!!
Chef Emeril Lagasse 6:27:47 PM
I'll be at gizz! The dell
Lizbot (host) 6:29:42 PM
@Chef Emeril Lagasse - Nice! I thought so! It's the 3rd of these late summer Dell concerts I've been going to
Lizbot (host) 6:30:12 PM
@Ossy - I'm glad sand doesn't smell like fish to me, but it most smell very interesting to her!
.Fräncis 6:35:32 PM
I have 2 labs. It's more of a question about what WON'T they eat. One of them ate an entire bullfrog in one gulp
Lizbot (host) 6:37:27 PM
@Chef Emeril Lagasse - Saw Alvvays at The Dell last summer, and Yo La Tengo and Japanese Breakfast summer 2022
Lizbot (host) 6:37:38 PM
Hi .Fräncis!
Lizbot (host) 6:38:27 PM
@.Fräncis - oh man, I had a yellow lab in the 90s 'til the late 2000s. I know the pain of labs and their tiger shark-like appetites!
.Fräncis 6:39:40 PM
Yeah - baby shark phase goes from 6 months - to 3 years...
Lizbot (host) 6:41:12 PM
@.Fräncis - Mine never chomped a whole bullfrog...that I KNOW of! She loved running in the woods near where I lived at the time, and lord knows she ate some things I didn't notice! She managed to never get herself sick or land herself in the vet hospital!
Ossy 6:41:44 PM
Liz - LOL, your dog probably even hates pretzel and bread with noisome mustard on them, hahaha. Sand seems less smelly to your dog, since she eats them up, like seeing some dogs eatting stuff like cotton from toys!
Ossy 6:43:03 PM
My cousin's dog ate a piece of pancake and loved it. Yeah, depending on your nose, sand can be all kinds of variant smelly, be it the salty water, food docks etc
Lizbot (host) 6:43:53 PM
@.Fräncis - Now my old BEAGLE on the other hand...He managed to swallow two dozen rich German dark chocolate cupcakes cooling on the counter, made by my grandmom, while we all went out for my dad's birthday dinner, (this was decades ago.) A visit to the Ryan Vet Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and a stomach-pumping later, and he was okay!
Carlos Ramone. 6:43:57 PM
@Liz..Buenas tardes, como estas hoy?
Lizbot (host) 6:45:10 PM
Hi Carlos Ramone.! Great! How're you? I'm gearing up for my long trip to Germany. Leaving on Monday. I won't be here for 3 weeks. Commie Francis and Dana K will be filling in
Lizbot (host) 6:47:29 PM
@.Fräncis / @Ossy - I should note: BOTH dogs lived a very long time! The lab made it to 15, and the beagle was insanely old: 19! He was a freak of nature, honestly. He was always looking for trouble. An escape artist as well. Could climb fences!
Carlos Ramone. 6:48:24 PM
@Liz..muy bien , tomes Una cerveza para mi!
Lizbot (host) 6:49:14 PM
@Ossy - I don't think she even thinks pretzels are food. Most bread doesn't register as food to her. She runs over to it, sniffs it, and walks away disinterested. She'll eat carrots, begrudgingly, but she recognizes them as food at least. Now if there's something ON the bread, like cheese on pizza crust, then the whole thing is suddenly a delicious treat to her
Lizbot (host) 6:52:01 PM
@Carlos Ramone. - Will do! I think I will be in over my head, beer-wise! They even have different glasses for every type of beer in Germany, and I'm sure I will commit beer-related gaffes and be informed I was not meant to chill such and such a beer, or I poured it wrong or used the wrong glass, but whatever. I'm gonna eat the hell outta those biergarten pretzels, tho
Ossy 6:52:49 PM
Those are remarkable long lives for your dogs, and find it funny some dogs don't reconize some real food, but inorganic and unedible stuff are. Oh yeah, can't go wrong with melted cheese on pizza or jelly...which I doubt is edible
Lizbot (host) 6:56:11 PM
@Ossy - Yeah, I have been lucky, knock on wood. My golden also made it to 15, though her last year wasn't so great. My lab was OBSESSED with butter. If someone opened a packet of butter from the fridge, despite it not having a strong smell, she KNEW immediately no matter how far away she was. She would come running down the stairs to get to that butter as fast as possible!
Lizbot (host) 6:56:52 PM
@Ossy - She DID manage to get an entire stick of butter in her maw once, she was so agile and adept at standing on her hind legs and pulling food towards her that had been left in the middle of a fairly large tall table!
Carlos Ramone. 6:58:18 PM
@liz..Germany en español? Alemania..ale mania
Lizbot (host) 7:00:21 PM
@Carlos Ramone. - Ha! Never thought of that!
Ossy 7:04:40 PM
Liz - Butter does smell pretty great, and makes sense of your dog to come running to it at fast pace..probably with scary barking LOL
Chef Emeril Lagasse 7:04:53 PM
This is one of those shows that I'm screenshotting like every song! BAM!
Chef Emeril Lagasse 7:06:34 PM
And ty for all those katamari thoughts! I'm not finished we love katamari yet and it seems like I still have a LOT /infinite amount to go! I just played that fireflies level, it was indeed a ~vibe~
Roffle 7:07:34 PM
Another great set! Cool tool.
Lizbot (host) 7:07:57 PM
@Ossy - My lab, Chloe, had in incredible sense of smell and an incredible appetite!
Lizbot (host) 7:08:02 PM
Thanks Roffle!
Lizbot (host) 7:08:25 PM
@Chef Emeril Lagasse - I'm glad you're enjoying it!
Lizbot (host) 7:09:23 PM
@Chef Emeril Lagasse - oh man, that level is such a summer night vibe. That one is relaxing and beautiful, whereas the camping level where you have to keep the campfire light and you roll fire stresses me the hell out!
Danosaur🦖 7:14:39 PM
Hey, everybody!
Lizbot (host) 7:15:08 PM
Hi Danosaur🦖! How're you?
Roffle 7:15:25 PM
Hey Dano!
Danosaur🦖 7:15:54 PM
I'm good. How are you doing?
Danosaur🦖 7:16:04 PM
Hi Roffle!
Danosaur🦖 7:16:51 PM
Went for a very long bike ride and I'm pleasantly exhausted right now.
Lizbot (host) 7:18:07 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - Yikes, I hope you aren't roasted! I was down the shore this past weekend/earlier in the week, hoping for heat relief, and it was cooler, but there was a crazy nonstop wind!
Lizbot (host) 7:18:51 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - Heading to Germany Monday, so busy getting ready. Dreading packing! I won't be here for 3 weeks, including my birthday next Thursday, July 4th. Commie Francis will be filling in next week
Danosaur🦖 7:19:14 PM
Ooh, Germany! Exciting!
Carlos Ramone. 7:19:22 PM
@Danosaur…what kind of bike and how long? I started telling people how long I ride in KM sounds more impressive
Danosaur🦖 7:20:03 PM
I'm in Los Angeles so not too hot here today. Just mid 80's
Lizbot (host) 7:20:59 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - Should be fun! jam-packed itinerary! I've never been there before despite having several cousins there
Lizbot (host) 7:21:15 PM
@Danosaur🦖- They've visited me here, but I've never visited them
Danosaur🦖 7:21:15 PM
@Carlos I have a fancy pants road bike and I rode 80 miles. To the beach and back from the Pasadena area of L.A.
Lizbot (host) 7:21:54 PM
@Carlos Ramone. - I better get used to using kilometers for the next few weeks...and the way faster driving on the autobahn
Roffle 7:22:01 PM
I'm on the rive on my bike Dano. Enjoying the into night changes.
Danosaur🦖 7:22:02 PM
@Lizbot that should be fun. It's always nice when you have someone to show you around
Carlos Ramone. 7:22:38 PM
@dano..sounds great..I have about a 12 YO road bike and did 28 today after work
Roffle 7:22:45 PM
*river*
Carlos Ramone. 7:23:13 PM
A good ride clears my mind , kinda like shaking an etch a sketch
Ossy 7:23:33 PM
Outside is so scorching, but not by a large river
Danosaur🦖 7:23:35 PM
@Roffle I rode my bike down the San Gabriel River trail here too
Roffle 7:23:44 PM
Exactly Carlos!
Danosaur🦖 7:24:32 PM
@Carlos agree 100% It's my drug of choice
Lizbot (host) 7:24:33 PM
@Roffle - I haven't cycled in ages, but the cousin I'm visiting in Hamburg is a hardcore cyclist. He & his wife and sons will be biking the Polish coast along the Baltic Sea shortly after I leave Hamburg
Lizbot (host) 7:25:11 PM
@Danosaur🦖- That sounds like it would be a gorgeous trail!
Roffle 7:25:16 PM
Good God, biking in Pasadena!
Danosaur🦖 7:25:39 PM
@Lizbot cycling is much more popular in Europe. That sounds like an amazing ride
Carlos Ramone. 7:26:16 PM
Does Pasadena still have a smog berry tree?
Roffle 7:26:41 PM
Or smog?
Danosaur🦖 7:27:15 PM
@Carlos Haha, haven't heard about those trees but we do have smog for sure
Lizbot (host) 7:27:36 PM
@Ossy - yeah, and I don't know what it's like in Danosaur's corner of Cali right now, but it's too humid here in PhillY!
Roffle 7:27:44 PM
I know LA , still fog smog sometimes.
Lizbot (host) 7:28:05 PM
@Danosaur🦖- Oh absolutely! Puts us Americans to shame. I used to bike everywhere. I'm horribly out of practice.
Carlos Ramone. 7:28:39 PM
@Dano…old Dr DEMENTO reference
Roffle 7:28:49 PM
Get an e bike. It's amazing!
Danosaur🦖 7:29:07 PM
Yeah, the infrastructure in the U.S. favors cars but it's getting a little better
Lizbot (host) 7:30:10 PM
@Roffle - I have a friend who loves her e-bike, but it got stolen outside Union Transfer. Thankfully she had it insured
Roffle 7:30:18 PM
Clearly I'm not a purist. I'm a progressive.😁
Danosaur🦖 7:30:22 PM
@Roffle my brother has an e bike and he likes it for driving around town.
Roffle 7:31:00 PM
Oh yeah, always insure
Danosaur🦖 7:31:23 PM
I like kicking my own butt with an old-school human powered bike.
Roffle 7:32:00 PM
With my extra battery I get 30 miles. I love it!
Lizbot (host) 7:32:28 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - I know this is no where near Pasadena, but I'm fascinated by survival stories. Did you hear about the guy who went for a hike in the Santa Cruz Mountain and got lost for 10 days?! He was found okay due to using his boot to collect water!
Danosaur🦖 7:32:59 PM
@Lizbot I did hear about that
Carlos Ramone. 7:33:43 PM
And for a bit he had a mountain lion trailing him?
Danosaur🦖 7:33:56 PM
People get lost frequently here in the San Gabriel Mountains. It's so close to the city they forget it's just wilderness
Roffle 7:34:20 PM
That is good too Dano. I like the range and trails and parking in front of a store. Driving through lots of parks. It's Uber cool.
Lizbot (host) 7:34:24 PM
@Roffle /@Danosaur🦖 - In Hawaii going up the Haleakala Volcano by car, we saw some tour groups of cyclists and some of them were a bit wobbly. The guide mentioned there are always some ppl in the bike tour who sign up and then realize too late they haven't biked in years and sorta forgot how!
Danosaur🦖 7:35:07 PM
@Lizbot yeah, that ride is crazy hard
Danosaur🦖 7:36:10 PM
You want to ease into riding a bike if you haven't done it in a while
Roffle 7:37:08 PM
I see that here too. I saw a Hasidic field trip on bikes that was hilarious because none of them knew how to ride a bike. Priceless!
Danosaur🦖 7:37:42 PM
@Carlos mountain lions are a thing here if you're a mountain biker. People have been attacked here in Southern California
Danosaur🦖 7:40:22 PM
Deep cuts
Danosaur🦖 7:41:10 PM
I remember that Concentration game. Very anxiety inducing
Lizbot (host) 7:42:17 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - For real. I'd be one of those wobbly people!
Danosaur🦖 7:42:42 PM
Can't go wrong with Belle and Sebastian
Lizbot (host) 7:42:47 PM
@Roffle - oh no! Yeah, I used to be a pretty hardy cyclist, but that was back before I had a car!
Danosaur🦖 7:43:20 PM
@Lizbot Happy Early Birthday!
Lizbot (host) 7:43:29 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - True! They came to Union Transfer in Philly in the spring. Jealous that listener Mike Appelstein will be seeing them in Glasgow this August!
Lizbot (host) 7:44:12 PM
@Carlos Ramone. - Did he? Yikes!
Danosaur🦖 7:44:44 PM
@Lizbot good to hear they're still going strong. Saw them once at Coachella in the early 2000's
Lizbot (host) 7:45:00 PM
@Danosaur🦖- Thanks! It'll be interesting spending July 4th in Berlin. I'm sure no one will be celebrating save maybe some American ex-pats!
Roffle 7:45:13 PM
Same. I don't need a car these days though. at last!
Danosaur🦖 7:46:18 PM
@Lizbot get some brats and beer and have your own Fourth of July celebration. Woohoo!
Lizbot (host) 7:46:58 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - Concentration was the worst! And yet I never got stressed out by Operation and its jarring buzzer! Maybe because Operation was more fun, with all the colorful silly body parts like bones that look like dog biscuits, whereas Concentration was just stress and nothing more! It felt like some invisible observer was testing you from behind one-way glass!
Carlos Ramone. 7:47:41 PM
@dano..love telling anyone who will listen that Coachella was started by a punk promoter..Aquabats..2 nights..Super rad!!
Danosaur🦖 7:47:54 PM
@Lizbot the ticking of that Concentration timer was tortuous
Ossy 7:48:39 PM
Mountain lions are the apex gangsters of the cali wilderness
Danosaur🦖 7:49:15 PM
@Carlos Coachella used to be pretty chill when I went in the late 90's - early 2000's. Now it's crazy and really expensive
Lizbot (host) 7:49:21 PM
@Roffle - yeah, I mean I grew up in the 'burbs outside Philly, and while there was a train stop that brought me to Center City in 11 minutes, which was wonderful, I still relied on my bike to get to friends' houses, movies, and everywhere else. I didn't have a car in college or when I lived in Center City, but got a used junker in South Philly, and then had a baby and really needed a functional car! That was the end of biking for me for quite some time!
Ossy 7:49:59 PM
Just read of some girl's dog was taken victim by a mountain lion https://www.kbzk.com/news/local-news/mountain-lion-attack-on-womans-dog-at-mount-baldy-raises-concerns-among-hikers
Danosaur🦖 7:50:29 PM
@Ossy for sure they are gangsta. We do also have bears which is fun.
Danosaur🦖 7:51:18 PM
This is a nice cover
Lizbot (host) 7:51:24 PM
@Ossy - oh nooo! Thankfully we only have foxes in my neighborhood, and they are not interested in messing with my much larger dog! My dog IS interested in messing with them.
Roffle 7:51:42 PM
I totally get that Lizbot. Things move around us and we adjust accordingly for sure.
.Fräncis 7:51:51 PM
LOL - cool cover
Lizbot (host) 7:52:05 PM
@Ossy / @Roffle / @Danosaur - I HAVE heard about encounters with coyotes in the woods near my house, but I've never seen one!
Lizbot (host) 7:52:14 PM
@.Fräncis - Glad you enjoy it!
Lizbot (host) 7:52:28 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - Yeah I really like this cover!
Danosaur🦖 7:52:52 PM
Coyotes are everywhere now. I just saw one this morning
Danosaur🦖 7:53:11 PM
The Roadrunner isn't safe anywhere anymore
Lizbot (host) 7:53:53 PM
@Danosaur🦖 - The only places I've seen them in the wild are Spokane, WA, Priest Lake, Idaho, which was near my uncle's cabin, and Phoenix
TAndy 7:54:37 PM
Lizbot!!! Thanks for the show this afternoon, it accompanied my friend and I very well on our visit to New Hope PA today :)
Danosaur🦖 7:54:54 PM
@Lizbot just look for the used ACME boxes and you will find the coyotes
TAndy 7:54:59 PM
Big love, have fun on tou travels!
Roffle 7:55:00 PM
Coyotes are everywhere, even on the islands of Puget Sound. Cats bewhere!
Rob from Maryland 🦅 7:55:29 PM
