Jon Hassell (1937 – 2021) trumpet player and composer, was best known for developing the concept of "Fourth World" music, which describes a "unified primitive/futurist sound" combining elements of world ethnic traditions with modern electronic techniques. Psychogeography (subtitled 'Zones Of Feeling') is a re-thinking of the 1990 City: Works Of Fiction album, an edited sequence of alternate takes and demos put together by Jon Hassell in 2014.

Jannick Top had the idea of adapting his cellist playing on a bass guitar by retuning his bass like a cello. By doing so, he overturned the methodology, the practice and the sound of the instrument. It is his recognizable sound that is the distinctive Zeuhl signature.

Jannick Top played with Magma for only a few years, but left after Summer of 1974, exhausted by the tough life on the road and the financial insecurity of the group. He thrived as a session player.

Their distinctive sound included 2 female vocalists. Originally issued in 1979, "Le Gros Delire" was recorded in 1984/85 and released as a bonus track on the 2010 reissue.
