| Brand X A Longer April Is There Anything About? Passport Records 1981 Founded in London, England in 1975, hiatus from 1980-1992, disbanded in 1999. Brand X is one the most well-known British groups of the seventies jazz/rock fusion scene. The original line-up of the band was formed by drummer Phil Collins of Genesis with John Goodsall (formerly of Atomic Rooster) on guitar, Robin Lumley on keyboards and Percy Jones on bass. Along with The Wilde Flowers, Delivery was another wellspring of Canterbury stars; the first band to feature Phil Miller on guitar (went on to Hatfield and The North & National Health & Matching Mole) along with Phil's brother Steve Miller on keyboards and vocals (Caravan), Pip Pyle (drummer with just about every Canterbury band), and Lol Coxhill on saxophone and Roy Babbington on bass (Soft Machine). They were all joined by singer Carol Grimes for their one release “Fools Meeting”. |
