Sangeet Team (host) 10:02:49 AM
Good morning @Padma
Padma 10:05:55 AM
@Rungun happy to see that you played Gayatri Girish. She rendered an amazing "Ranganayakam" and her Guru T N Seshagoplan's Pallavi (Kalyani Alapanai) last week in Plainsboro.
Sangeet Team (host) 10:15:16 AM
Nice to know @Padma. That song Ranganayakam in ragam Ranganayaki (if I am correct) is a great song, Have you heard Vijay Siva's rendition of this song - it is also wonderful. Anyway heads up - I have a long piece of Vijay Siva coming up
Sangeet Team (host) 10:18:26 AM
Today I picked artists that are performed recently or performing in the near future in NY,NJ,PA or DE...
Padma 10:18:30 AM
@Rungun, wonderful to be able to hear Vijay Siva on the show today! Waiting to hear Nandhini and Vijay Siva in person in April & May. yes, Vijay Siva learnt from D K J & D K P (who learnt Dikshitar Kritis from Ambi Dikshitar, descendent of Muthuswami Dikshitar himself!
Padma 10:22:53 AM
@Rungun, like you mentioned, Nandhini has a lot of accompaniments on this song. Collaboration is the key to survival for both Carnatic musicians and colleges/universities :-))
Padma 10:46:14 AM
@Rungun 100% what you said is true about how Vijay Siva brings about "Bhava" in his singing.
Padma 10:53:34 AM
Vijay Siva's Jambupathe rendition is so moving that it can bring tears to one's eyes!
Sangeet Team (host) 10:57:19 AM
@Padma - Vijay Siva does justice to so many songs that are rendered slowly. I love TR Mali for the same reason that is slow renditions.
