The $300+ Astrid is a Japanese CD w/obi strip. Ya the audiophile/collector crowd treasures those so the sellers will put the price up. JP market produced cds are often of higher standards so they say

I think the only cd I bought from eBay that was JP market issue was a Led Zeppelin III "mini lp version " cd. Not with an obi ha. No jacked up price either. It was a series of cd's put out w the same style covers as the original lps, cardboard sleeve not plastic jewel case etc and w the lil bells n whistles. In the case of LZ 3 it had the little movable weather circle toy w cutouts etc. So cute. Had to. I think Phys Graffiti had the cutouts too

There are two copies of that Astrud Gilberto CD (Temperance) for sale on Discogs for .... $281 & $298. The previous high price was $77.

I bought a Van Wilks album years ago. Rare, but man out of print and pristine. I don't buy things I do not love. And I met him a couple of times back in Austin, TX. That is the added value for me, but it's a priceless album.

Ya saw that too! Crazy. I found out about a rare lp of some one off band that played at Ozarks resort back in 60s - 70s. The JD Ann Trio or some such... Live at Tantara .. heard recording of it. Super fun. Surfy, rockabilly, rnr etc. Great growly Wanda Jackson-ish vocals. But somehow the lp became a cult collector fave. Fetches hundreds. Go figure
