Great start today Grace. Have you ever looked into Harry Bertoia? Created sound sculpture instruments and gongs along with other interesting creations. And did recordings as well. Some of the sound sculptures involved long metal rods, clustered together. He could grab, bend maneuver and let them fall to create thunderous sounds. Really interesting recordings

I'm not sure on the exact tracks but for Harry B discography I've checked out some of these releases: "Clear Sounds / Perfetta"; "Glowing Sounds 1, 2 & 3"; "Hints of Thoughts to Come"; "No Date Tapes 2" and "Sonambient - Complete Collection " (that last one is quite large). Try out some samples out there in the web... his work would fit right into this program.

Harry Bertoia was also a somewhat local guy (somewhere in Berks county, I think) so there are quite a few of his pieces in the area. I have one of the iconic chairs that he designed for Knoll.

Unfortunately, his "barn" setup, where he did his recordings, was dismantled and sold off a few years ago in the midst of some sort of family dispute.

Yes Bud, so unfortunate about the family dispute. My wife was able to tour the grounds with her gong class about 8-10 yrs ago. She saw the 10 plus foot gong up close and got some pictures. Amazing
