I was in the last 8 grade class to graduate from Hopewell school in 1966 Hendrix was played

I'm wondering if the setup in the pic is an amateur radio station. The tall device at far right looks like a power system that's too big for a cireca 1930s, '40s, '50s amateur. Plus the man seated at the electronics control bench is wearing a tie-and jacket more in keeping with a work situation. Radio, yes, but maybe govenment or research related?

The key is a vibroplex bug. I got one an learned to use it during the pandemic.

Re: "Eight Miles High" by The Byrds ... Labor Day Weekend 2016, Byrds bassist Chris Hillman (who was a bluegrass mandolinist pre-Byrds) and his also multi-talented fellow Californian bluegrass/country player Herb Pedersen played the Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival in Salem, NJ, as an acoustic duo. They did "8 Miles High" and Hillman played Roger McGuinn's famed electric 12-string guitar solos perfectly - on mandolin! I fell out of my lawn chair, laughing in joyous pleasure.

Meaty beaty is an amazing comp, i got that one on vinyl as well as the American version of a quick one which was retitled happy jack (as well as most of their stuff haha)

You played Summer In The City on my way home in the truck and it reminded me of watching The Gutter Brothers play it in clubs and in the street (London UK) 30+ years ago. They had the dubious honor of being the first band to play live on MTV and they also played Bruce Dickinson's wedding. I actually turned the radio off and on before realizing it was the music - So fun to expand my ears - then you come along with a set of music that pours into well worn musical trails in my brain that create little endorphin joy bursts with each known riff.
