hello!
TAndy 5:01:26 PM
Ahoy!
Number 6 5:01:46 PM
Hola!
Lizbot (host) 5:02:53 PM
Hey TAndy! You're up!
Lizbot (host) 5:02:58 PM
Hi Number 6 !
Lizbot (host) 5:03:39 PM
@TAndy - You JUST came up last night in my house because my husband was reminiscing about Tandy computers!
Roffle 5:03:59 PM
On approach, gear down, ready for touch and go...
Lizbot (host) 5:04:36 PM
Hi Roffle! We are taking off with some weird today!
TAndy 5:04:39 PM
I used to be in top of the world, then Apple came along.
Lizbot (host) 5:04:48 PM
This Meridian Brothers song cracks me up
Rob from Maryland 🦅 5:05:16 PM
Where is Maria?
Roffle 5:05:17 PM
Tandy computers! OMG! That was just to funny!
Lizbot (host) 5:05:54 PM
"I am your father, I made you" - an oddball song to elicit a resounding shout of "CRINGE!!!" from teens the world around, but in this case, specifically Colombia
Lizbot (host) 5:06:01 PM
"I am your father, your mother too"
Lizbot (host) 5:06:25 PM
Hi Rob from Maryland 🦅!
Lizbot (host) 5:06:58 PM
@Hi Rob from Maryland 🦅 - We have our best and brightest working on that conundrum at this very minute
Lizbot (host) 5:07:08 PM
Where In the World is Maria Sandiego?
Lizbot (host) 5:07:36 PM
LOVE these strings with those beeps!
TAndy 5:07:36 PM
I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate
Lizbot (host) 5:07:56 PM
@TAndy - Shed a tear...But not TOO many tears cuz I loved my Apple II as a kid!
Roffle 5:10:28 PM
Musk makes a chip emulator that gets implanted in brains. I guess. Or maybe where ever.
Lizbot (host) 5:10:31 PM
@Roffle & @TAndy - Before a Tandy OR an Apple, my school and my parents (one of whom taught at my school) had a dinky little computer called an "Acorn"! I swear it had a stretched fabric screen! We had that Turtle drawing program on it wherein you typed a series of lengthy commands into the DOS prompt to get the cursor to draw a line and then a triangle, and for THRILL A MINUTE times, maybe even get it to ROTATE!
Roffle 5:11:21 PM
"Hello World"
Lizbot (host) 5:11:33 PM
@TAndy - I am your dog's cousin's hairdresser
Roffle 5:12:05 PM
As Python would say.
Lizbot (host) 5:12:41 PM
@Roffle - I guess I didn't have much of a lunch today, because I read "chip emulator" and imagined faux chocolate chips at first.
Roffle 5:13:35 PM
I like that chocolate chip mojo.
TAndy 5:14:04 PM
I remember my first computer was a dinky Toshiba tower that came bundled with PeoplePC dialup. I miss that thing and the spring loaded power button on the CRT display
Rob from Maryland 🦅 5:14:18 PM
Is María a catbird and if so, has she started heading north yet?
Lizbot (host) 5:14:19 PM
@Roffle - I'll make a better reality in the next sentence than the creepy dystopia Musk is working on: Musk-ox is making a chocolate chip emulator that gets implanted in mouths
Roffle 5:15:19 PM
You are so bot aware of what is in the pipe. lol
Lizbot (host) 5:16:08 PM
@TAndy - I never had PeoplePC. My first was Prodigy dial-up. Spent a lot of time on prodigy.net bulletin boards - the biggest two I was on were music and rabbits because I had an insane rabbit I tried to tame
Rob from Maryland 🦅 5:16:23 PM
Chocolate chips?!
Lizbot (host) 5:17:00 PM
@Roffle - Don't let my botlyness fool you! I have had to click "I am not a robot" on thousands of websites. I feel sheepish.
Roffle 5:17:50 PM
@Rob, Embedded chocolate chips in cookies!
George Korein 5:19:05 PM
Yo soy tu padre
George Korein 5:19:21 PM
Y tu mama tambien
Lizbot (host) 5:19:21 PM
Rob from Maryland 🦅 - I haven't gotten close enough to the chatty catbird to determine its gender, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe catbirds' plumage doesn't differ between male and female? Either way, let's just call her Maria and assume she is missing until she reappears in my yard this spring
Lizbot (host) 5:19:28 PM
Hi George!
Roffle 5:20:58 PM
Yea, sounds like those stop sign "am I a bot questions" can clearly be answered by Musks self driving cars. So, I bet all that is moot by now. lol
Lizbot (host) 5:21:14 PM
@George Korein - First the Meridian Brothers, in their pre-parental state, need to sing "Voy a Ser Mama" with Pedro Almodovar y McNamara, then they graduate to dual madre y padre status
Roffle 5:22:12 PM
Heya George! My partially mechanical friend!
George Korein 5:22:20 PM
Sounds like a fantastic voy age
George Korein 5:23:00 PM
Hello Roffle, unstompéd
Lizbot (host) 5:24:16 PM
@Roffle - I'd rather ride an ambling musk-ox than Musk's self-driving cars!
Roffle 5:24:59 PM
True George. But I sprained a Ham ligament yesterday and I feel that shitty pain of not even walking. FFS!
Roffle 5:25:22 PM
Definitely no stomping.
Lizbot (host) 5:25:35 PM
@George Korein - A fantastic Voy Age when one Meridian can be both padre y madre and then sing a song about it to embarrass the childrens
Lizbot (host) 5:27:09 PM
@Roffle - oh noooo. I prescribe some FFS (the Franz Ferdinand / Sparks collab album) to feel better...after tonight's Doubleplusgood, naturally!
Lizbot (host) 5:27:44 PM
@George - Sapping the Buch
Rob from Maryland 🦅 5:27:53 PM
Correct, Lizbot, male and female catbirds are identical in plumage
Roffle 5:28:26 PM
I lived in Alaska, Never saw that brochure for the Musk Ox rides. But it might turn out to be the sensible alternative.
Lizbot (host) 5:29:45 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦅 - Yeah, I figured they're a buncha drab n' whiny little birds! JK, I would miss Maria if she didn't return. And I admire her long tail held at a jaunty angle.
Lizbot (host) 5:31:46 PM
@Roffle - I hope that ox lives up to its musky name. I wanna smell like I've ridden a musk ox to impress my friends and neighbors.
Wes Steenson 5:31:55 PM
Bouzouki?
Lizbot (host) 5:32:08 PM
Hi Wes!
Roffle 5:34:26 PM
I just shower less often. Ox Uber fees are beyond my budget. :)
Lizbot (host) 5:34:52 PM
@Wes Steenson - Quite possibly. Don't have the instrument list for that track in front of me, but she's Turkish and that sounded very Mediterranean
Lizbot (host) 5:35:33 PM
@Roffle - Oxes need soxes and boxers, though, hence the upcharge.
Wes Steenson 5:35:57 PM
Ah - bağlama. Bouzouki’s cousin.
Lizbot (host) 5:38:03 PM
@Wes Steenson - Ah! Thanks for looking that up!
Roffle 5:38:24 PM
They could use a hair care expense as well, but I'm not judging.
Lizbot (host) 5:39:10 PM
@Wes Steenson - And the bağlama is specifically Turkish. Derya is based in Hamburg, but she's Turkish and makes Anatolian music
Lizbot (host) 5:41:53 PM
@Roffle - No Musk-ox-haters tolerated! Unless they're named Elon!
Roffle 5:43:07 PM
:), I loved Elon, but things sure do change.
Lizbot (host) 5:43:36 PM
@Roffle - Yeah, he's not so fun now!
Roffle 5:45:24 PM
@Wes Steenson, I so want a semi tonal fretted bouzouki. I would love to go shop a pawnshop in Ankara if such a thing exists.
Lizbot (host) 5:47:12 PM
This is a premiere! This single is coming out at midnight tonight
Roffle 5:50:05 PM
Wonder where this goes, if just piano and voice, but the strings showed up and went away. I like that.
Roffle 5:50:33 PM
Again
Roffle 5:50:49 PM
THere it is
Lizbot (host) 5:51:55 PM
@Roffle - yes, I love this arrangement
Roffle 5:53:56 PM
God made rest stops for everyone to have and use and share.
Stephen Bluhm 5:54:19 PM
Thank you! I didn't want the arrangement to interfere with the words so I put it mostly in the instrumental breaks.
Roffle 5:54:26 PM
And the space between the note as we all know.
Roffle 5:55:18 PM
Well done Stephen
Roffle 5:55:45 PM
Kept the mood
TAndy 5:56:57 PM
!!! Musician in chat! Great piece, Mr. Bluhm :)
jimbooooooo 5:57:18 PM
That'll be the Wistful Wissahickon ♥️
Rob from Maryland 🦅 6:00:27 PM
@Lizbot, I hope that Maria returns this spring & summer
Roffle 6:01:53 PM
@Stephen Bluhm, nice to see artists do production. That really worked.
Zachary S. 6:04:19 PM
Love me some DoublePlusGood
Lizbot (host) 6:04:37 PM
Helloo Zachary S.! Thanks for listening!
Lizbot (host) 6:05:10 PM
@TAndy - There's more S. Bluhm coming out in the coming month!
Lizbot (host) 6:05:57 PM
@Stephen Bluhm - It's gorgeous! Vocals, lyrics, piano and strings are all wonderful on that track
Lizbot (host) 6:06:20 PM
@jimbooooooo - You know it!
Lizbot (host) 6:06:36 PM
@jimbooooooo - home to coyotes these days, though I have yet to spot one!
iConJohn 6:07:39 PM
Enjoying the show and 1st time chatter to it! Greetings from my 3rd floor West Philly house via old school terrestrial stereo!
Lizbot (host) 6:08:19 PM
And now for something completely different: Some bombastic swank
Lizbot (host) 6:08:47 PM
in a post-punk funk style, cuz mid-February calls for some silliness
Roffle 6:09:15 PM
I was at a rest stop in Arizona and a bunch of coyotes wandered through. Weird on any day.
Lizbot (host) 6:10:37 PM
Hi iConJohn! Thanks for dropping in and listening! I'm glad you're receiving terrestrial signal clearly enough! I have lived in West Philly and all over Philly and the PRB signal is a tempermental beast!
Zachary S. 6:12:35 PM
I liked that one. You can definitely hear the post-punk twist haha. Cool vibe
Lizbot (host) 6:14:45 PM
@Roffle - Ah! I spotted ONE wild coyote during my Arizona roadtrip back in 2016 or so, and it was a deeply satisfying experience. I was nearing the end of my trip and STILL hadn't seen a coyote, and was disappointed to find, upon arrriving at Taliesin West, that I missed the last tour of the day and no one was allowed inside that actual house without a guided tour, so I was killing time in the giftshop when my then-young kid picked up a jumping cholla and was screaming in pain! To Be Cont.
Roffle 6:15:03 PM
Hi @iConJohn, I also live in West Philly, U district according to the maps. lol And I use the online interface because it is more consistent.
Lizbot (host) 6:17:02 PM
@Roffle - The kind employee of the Frank Lloyd Wright bookstore next to the house was no stranger to jumping cholla cacti and immediately appeared with pliars, which he used deftly to remove the cholla from my wailing daughter's hand. She was, naturally, still upset and crying, but THEN, out of the surrounding desert, a coyote dramatically stepped out of the brush and paused staring at us with the sun setting behind it! My daughter was so surprised, she forgot all about the cholla1
Roffle 6:18:07 PM
@LIZ, I steer clear of cactus for sure. I have have had bad times being curious myself!
George Korein 6:18:08 PM
Universe City City
Lizbot (host) 6:18:41 PM
@George Korein - The last track was tré Trey
Lizbot (host) 6:18:57 PM
@George Korein - and this Nyman was later used on Man On Wire
Lizbot (host) 6:20:15 PM
@Roffle - It's so sad because my daughter was still at an age then where she loved making "fairy gardens' and how could she resist the cholla's fluffy orbs for this purpose?! Had she only announced her intent first, we could have stopped her!
George Korein 6:20:42 PM
So tré trey it’s cray-cray
Roffle 6:20:52 PM
So well put George.
George Korein 6:21:01 PM
Like a tray/dish of crayfish
George Korein 6:21:21 PM
This show has been rockin’ me
George Korein 6:22:02 PM
This song I would like to dance to but alas I cannot for I am with my daughter who does not permit such
Lizbot (host) 6:22:07 PM
@Zachary S. - I'm glad you enjoyed it! Post-punk/funk thing going on, kinda reminds me of Philly's The Stickmen or some of James Chance's music from the late 70s/early 80s
Brian D 6:22:08 PM
Cacti! Make u wanna CHOLLA! Make you wanna JUMP!
Lizbot (host) 6:22:15 PM
Ahoy, Brian D!
iConJohn 6:22:41 PM
Hey @Roffle! WKDU listener since 1977, but faded from it in early 90's. Started listening to WPRB more recently since I tired of the the left of the dial Top 20 Hit Radio station and their high play rate for said top 20 songs.
Roffle 6:22:54 PM
But you can't get away Brian! Just ouch it out.
Lizbot (host) 6:23:11 PM
@George Korein - tré Trey. Rock the Trey-dle of love. Explain to the kid you can't be stopped from embracing the udulating beats
Brian D 6:23:14 PM
Cholla 4 dolla make u wanna holla
iConJohn 6:23:54 PM
Clarification, Left of the dial West Philly top 20 hit station...
Lizbot (host) 6:24:00 PM
@Brian D - Cholla at your boy. But never cholla French toast!
Brian D 6:24:22 PM
Uno Gunn, Due Gunn, Tre Gunn whatever it tales
Lizbot (host) 6:24:38 PM
@iConJohn - Happy to have you here on our oddball frequency
Roffle 6:25:23 PM
@iConJohn, I was an XPN fan and loved the old studio, but life goes on and so we move on.
George Korein 6:25:42 PM
Treydle treydle, I made you out of Trey
Number 6 6:27:08 PM
I got a small red and green cactus at home depot awhile ago.
iConJohn 6:27:11 PM
@Roffle Word!
Lizbot (host) 6:29:07 PM
BRAM
Lizbot (host) 6:30:38 PM
That Crizin track had a descending synth pitch that sounded like it was going into a classic film preview "BRAM" sound affect. Who are these BRAM stokers and why do they insist on using the BRAM so often?
Lizbot (host) 6:32:27 PM
@Roffle / @Brian D - the cholla tendrils detect moisture in your skin, extend to reach it and then expand to anchor themselves, like the horrid little invasive alien parasite cacti they are!
Lizbot (host) 6:33:00 PM
Kinda like that direct-to-streaming comedy-horror from a few years ago about the killer fluffballs...George, title come to mind?
Lizbot (host) 6:33:07 PM
ahhh, Save Yourselves!
Lizbot (host) 6:33:30 PM
@George Korein - I dare you to send Trey Gunn an email that just says that.
Roffle 6:34:36 PM
@George, "Spinning like a top or a dreidel, the spinning never stops when you leave the cradle, it just slows down."
Lizbot (host) 6:36:02 PM
@Number 6 - I don't consider myself to have a green thumb, but I'm pleased that I've managed to keep my windowsill cacti and various succulents and jade (plus some Trader Joe's orchids) for going on 11 years now
Roffle 6:36:10 PM
-Donald McLean.

Heck yeah Lizbot! Killer show. We're all dancing to Tafo here.
Lizbot (host) 6:44:26 PM
@Brian D - Chollawood! The cholla have invaded Hollywood like the spores in the TRUE ending of Little Shop of Horrors! And now Lollywood AND Bollywood?! We are doomed to host their questing tendrils forever!
Lizbot (host) 6:44:50 PM
Hi joe! Thanks! Glad Tafo Bros are inspiring dancing!
Lizbot (host) 6:45:40 PM
I feel like this part is a spoken word intro by a fly
Roffle 6:45:49 PM
That was so fun!
Lizbot (host) 6:45:55 PM
The fly, then the choir, then Benjamin
Lizbot (host) 6:46:07 PM
@Roffle - I want more tracks of that fly
Roffle 6:46:09 PM
Love that tune
Lizbot (host) 6:46:22 PM

Roffle 6:49:37 PM
Brian always goes beyond the fray.
Lizbot (host) 6:49:53 PM
@Brian D - I feel like there is endless fruitful possibilities for amazing tracks when sampling bols na, din, ti, ta, and dha sounds / konnakol that accompanies tabla players!
Lizbot (host) 6:52:00 PM
This album title and cover art really strived to maintain Caravan's title of king punsters of the Canterbury Scene
Lizbot (host) 6:53:31 PM
@Roffle - Come summer, Lazy dragonly will be overrun by Buzzy cicada for many impromptu bzzzzing solos
Brian D 6:55:30 PM
that's "beyond the frey" I believe
Lizbot (host) 6:56:32 PM
@Brian D - When you go to that great Viking Valhalla, you're beyond the Freya and her massive cat what probably bit your Viking head off as you met your Viking end
Roffle 6:56:40 PM
I hear that Liz. Maybe too much and rather loud, but no cicadia ever ate my lunch. At least not the whole thing as far as I know.
Lizbot (host) 6:57:49 PM
@Roffle - I bow to the Magicicadas...they heard me, right? Tell them I'm a friend and not to shed their crusty husks on my car, please
Lizbot (host) 6:58:13 PM
silly bouncy prog timez portion of the program
Lizbot (host) 7:00:03 PM
@Brian D - I can't beat that. One can't bash Trey with an ashtray and relay his ashes to Brian May
Number 6 7:00:41 PM
Just don't mess with Walder Frey!
Roffle 7:01:24 PM
@Brian, Sure, but that was context and just for silliness, and everything beyond the fray is just where I call my home.
Brian D 7:01:54 PM
Freytag und Sonnabend
Roffle 7:02:11 PM
Howdy neighbor.
Lizbot (host) 7:02:35 PM
@Brian D - Fryin Frey gives way to Brian May
Lizbot (host) 7:02:46 PM
and his STAR FLEET
Lizbot (host) 7:03:36 PM
This one goes out to the moon-roving Odysseus and Freya
Brian D 7:04:15 PM

Brian D 7:04:31 PM
Have not heard this in about 40 yrs
Roffle 7:04:37 PM
Everyday is the same to me Brian. lol
Lizbot (host) 7:04:44 PM

Roffle 7:05:51 PM
Never woke up thinking it was a different day. Just...
Brian D 7:05:56 PM
Brian Mey? Eydiee Van Heylen?
Lizbot (host) 7:06:24 PM
That name again is...Mar Fleet?
Lizbot (host) 7:06:44 PM
Star Fleet is on fleek
Brian D 7:06:54 PM
Ya... Mar Fleet. We stayed there. Nice beach. Rented a small studio
Lizbot (host) 7:07:31 PM
Calling Ronnie James to the front desk to carry the torch of that space odyssey
Brian D 7:08:13 PM
Better than Hear 'n Aid (We're) "Stars" that Starfleet.... speakin of Ronnie Jeymes Dio
Brian D 7:09:08 PM
Ritchie had it going on. Ever the morphing tall elf that Blackmore.
Lizbot (host) 7:09:34 PM
@Brian D - I gave Mar Fleet 2 stars on Yelp. Too many sailors everywhere. Some kinda Fleet Week going on
Roffle 7:10:02 PM
Dio dug into the whole vibe for sure.
Lizbot (host) 7:10:08 PM
@Brian D - Brian Mother May I? Eddie's Van-hailin' right now. Our ride will be here soon
Brian D 7:10:29 PM
"I WENT TO MAR FLEET DURING FLEET WEEK AND ALL I GEET WAS THEES LEESY TEE SHEERT!"
Lizbot (host) 7:11:44 PM

Brian D 7:11:53 PM
Not Gittin' in the Van.... Halen a cab? A Dio !
Lizbot (host) 7:12:48 PM
@Brian D - Like a Rainbow in the Ritchie Blackmore
Roffle 7:13:21 PM
I am in the market for a Jewish Space laser tee shirt after seeing Maynard wear one. And I don't do idle copy stuff, but that was so funny and cool in his Beato interview.
Brian D 7:13:27 PM
ooo I requested Trilobite today and Krista played it. A fine Robyn H song that mentions the name Sven, Elton's real name, fossils....
Brian D 7:13:43 PM
Elton's real name Dwight that is
Lizbot (host) 7:13:44 PM
Odysseus will be wailing this "What a lonely place! I'm coming hooooome!" on the way back from the moon
Lizbot (host) 7:14:21 PM
Like a Rainbow In Curved Air
Brian D 7:14:28 PM
Ritchie Black Moray Eeels have invaded the sleepy seaside resort of Mar Fleet. Never the same since
Roffle 7:14:39 PM
Elton is fossilizing.
Brian D 7:15:43 PM
The nightmare in the rainbow of the dream of darkness is a magic picture caught in time of a fantasy of a sham of a mockery of a sham of a trial
Stephen Bluhm 7:17:34 PM
This song is tickling my memory of a different song. What other song is the chorus similar to?
Lizbot (host) 7:18:27 PM
To be Better Sorry Than Asafe, Odysseus got Stuck In a Hole, but then took to the Air, thanks to a space Officer!, and fought V.S. Star Fleet, defeating Brian May and sending him on his way Van Wailing, like a Light In the Black riding a Rainbow over Curved Air
Roffle 7:19:26 PM
@Brian, The endless possibilities include magics. Choose your realities accordingly. :)
Brian D 7:19:36 PM
Stuck in an 'ole? Aye 'e go(t) stuck in an 'ole. 'Ole lo(tt)a glo(tt)al stop 'en innit aye?
Stephen Bluhm 7:19:36 PM
The Curved Air I mean. It's driving me nuts.
Lizbot (host) 7:20:40 PM
@Stephen Bluhm - A Terry Riley balm may soothe after prolonged exposure to curved air
George Korein 7:21:14 PM
Fun tidbit: I read that Ritchie Blackmore tried to get Phil Lynott to join Deep Purple
Stephen Bluhm 7:21:40 PM
I mean it's driving me nuts what other song it sounds like. I could be thinking of Matilda Mother by Pink Floyd.
Brian D 7:22:06 PM
A bit of soul would have been injected into the Purple realm... some alt universe that collab exists. RIP Phil
Lizbot (host) 7:22:43 PM
@George Korein -Cray! Kray Brothers v. Tafo Brothers vs. Meridian Brothers...GO!
Roffle 7:23:01 PM

Lizbot (host) 7:33:30 PM
Steak smells of detuned bells
Brian D 7:33:45 PM
I prefer Krey in the tin rather than fresh caught Krey... unless it is Mar Fleet Krey on the 'alf sheyll
George Korein 7:34:03 PM
Crate tins
Brian D 7:34:53 PM
I put me crate in the tin an den frew it in da bin den innit. And I put me throw rug in the catch basin.

I have watched in person Japanese guys pack roe in Alaska. .
Lizbot (host) 7:47:23 PM
I can't hear this song without picturing a marching Peter Weller and then wondering WHERE is our PROMISED Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension SEQUEL?!
Roffle 7:47:37 PM
I could not afford it here, but it was free there. I sucks.
Lizbot (host) 7:48:06 PM

Brian D 7:50:35 PM
Now that is a more challenging picnic party backyard game, Running with Deviled Eggs. Must wear white pants.
Brian D 7:51:00 PM
Avoid the hot paprika blower guns
Lizbot (host) 7:52:48 PM
@Brian D - You gonna balance em in a spoon in your mouth while getting pummeled by rowdy Magicicadas. Your reward is one tasty deviled egg that's been in the July sun all day and seasoned with a crisp of cicada husks
Lizbot (host) 7:54:03 PM
@Roffle - So wild, I heard you can straight up claim a whole herd of musk oxes and train them to swim to Russia
Roffle 7:54:11 PM
IT's not like there are a ton of wildlife rangers protecting from poachers up there. Alaska is wild as F.
Lizbot (host) 7:54:58 PM
Alaska Travel Guide: Musk Oxen are a Must
Roffle 7:55:03 PM
Who is really up there? Nobody!
