@Roffle - Ah! I spotted ONE wild coyote during my Arizona roadtrip back in 2016 or so, and it was a deeply satisfying experience. I was nearing the end of my trip and STILL hadn't seen a coyote, and was disappointed to find, upon arrriving at Taliesin West, that I missed the last tour of the day and no one was allowed inside that actual house without a guided tour, so I was killing time in the giftshop when my then-young kid picked up a jumping cholla and was screaming in pain! @Roffle - The kind employee of the Frank Lloyd Wright bookstore next to the house was no stranger to jumping cholla cacti and immediately appeared with pliars, which he used deftly to remove the cholla from my wailing daughter's hand. She was, naturally, still upset and crying, but THEN, out of the surrounding desert, a coyote dramatically stepped out of the brush and paused staring at us with the sun setting behind it! My daughter was so surprised, she forgot all about the cholla1
