I feel you. Reading for pleasure, or just any kind of non-research-related reading, is challenging when you're writing a thesis.

Highly highly recommend _Gravity's Rainbow_ though. If you're into Deleuze there are a few scholarly works on Pynchon that might serve as a useful bridge. Check out Mattessich's _Lines Of Flight: Discursive Time & Countercultural Desire In The Work of Thomas Pynchon_.

On the Badiou front, you should check out Gabriel Rockhill's work, if you haven't already.

If memory services, Rockhill studied under Badiou. And he's relatively local (Villanova University), which can be handy if you want to try & arrange a meeting or just send the odd research-related-request-for-clarification e-mail now & again.

Looking at Deleuze's like cryptofascist strains mostly in Thousand Plateaus

And keying into Badiou's Fascism of the Potato

If you ever need a quick refresher (or just a knife to cut through that dense French stuff), Brian Massumi's _A User's Guide To Capitalism & Schizophrenia_ is a good place to start. You _might_ also find some interesting bits in David Harvey's work. I know he takes aim a Deleuze specifically towards the end of _The Condition of Postmodernity_ but it's been a while since I read that one and I'm not sure how lengthy (or incisive) his critique is.

Anyway, I digress. I'm sure after a long day of reading you're spent. As you can guess, you just happened to mention one of my wheelhouses on the air, so I felt compelled to chime in.
