An album of violin duos with their respective composers from Jennifer Koh, a Korean-American violinist and Grammy Award winner.

Du Yun, the composer, is a Professor of Composition at the Peabody Institute and won the Pulitzer Prize in 2017 for her opera Angel's Bone.

This nine-track album is about "growth and the passage of time." Connecting his past and present, Hugjiltu features traditional Mongolian instruments including the Morin Khuur (Horsehead Fiddle), Tsuur (End-Blown Flute), and Khuurchir (Four-Stringed Fiddle) as well as Khoomei (Throat Singing) and Holboo (Mongolian Impromptu Singing).

The album also features three duets with recordings of Laosier, Hugjiltu's late father.
