I saw Halvorson with pianist Sylvia Courvoisier at the Jazz Gallery in New York a few weeks ago. Wonderful duo in a nice intimate setting.

Russ, what else can you say about that Halvorson duo. Whose songs did they perform?

They were playing their own compositions. No standards. Very intricate interplay between them. Shifted from lead to accompaniment and playing lines simultaneously throughout the set. Captivating.

I am looking forward to Hearing Halvorson with trumpeter Adam O’Farrill, trombonist Jacob Garchik, vibraphonist Patricia Brennan, bassist Nick Dunson and drummer Tomas Fujiwara at Solar Myth. Excellent ensemble!

Halvorson sits well with me for sure. I hope she stays active for a very long time.

There was a hit song by an older male singer about walking in the sand. I used to hear this in Wawa stores in the 80's. I can't remember what it was.

This has Moonlight Sonata elements rather than Fur Eise

the so called long version is from a session .with chatter etc

My brother computer would play Fur Elise on start up errors

Moonlight Sonata was all I heard. lol

Fur Elise is the popular piano recital piece. Moonlight Sonata a bit more involved. I found out about both of them thanks to Schroeder from Charlie Brown (aka Peanuts).

Play it backwards and it's a John Lennon tune. :)
