When I was living in San Francisco I met Mineko of Angel' in Heavy Syrup and became pen pals with her ( before email ) and she turned me on to Morita Doji. I got to see Angel in Heavy Syrup 2X the 2nd time opening for Gong!

thats an amazing story!! they are such a lovely band i cant imagine how nice it would have been to write with her.. didnt kno they opened for gong either!

Mineko was such a "Canterbury" music freak and sent me cool Japanese Magazine articles about Canterbury bands. I lost touch with her around 1998, Angel in Heavy Syrup put out one more album in 99 then split, I am pretty sure Mineko moved to Holland and got married....The only member than continued on was Fusao Toda along with her partner Masonna....

I have only been listening to your show for a few years so maybe you have played Rebecca, but I have never heard Rebecca on any American radio station. Rebecca have that very mid 80s Madonna vibe but in a very Japanese way. They were huge in Japan in the 80s...
