I grew up in Silver Spring MD and we got Washington and Baltimore TV shows - Professor Kool and his Fun Skool was the best kids show. Kids would win a 10 pound bag of mashed potatoes.

Rahsaan Roland Kirk wrote the superior lyrics to Goodbye Pork Pie Hat. Joni Mitchell wrote the inferior lyrics.

That might have been Seattle though.Many of the local stations had local talent.
