The mashups toward the end of the marathon were great, specially the beastie boys set!

YLT! This was my top album of the year. It's great to see them still kicking.

I like this record a great deal, but I feel like I haven't spent enough time with it in full (which is on me).

There is one town in Oklahoma that defiantly uses mountain time.

I remember I had a giant USA atlas when I was a kid that showed small parts of the USA that were 15 minutes off from the rest of their entire state.

(I also could have been reading the map wrong.)

Growing up in Indiana, we never changed time for daylight savings stuff, but they may now. And the 'region' in NW Indiana is on central time instead of EST. I guess because it is pretty much a suburb of Chicago.

And I was on the Indiana Michigan border. Michigan always changed for daylight savings. It was confusing sometimes

I've certainly had some confusion driving from Michigan to Chicago via Indiana.

Travis that's so interesting I didn't realize there were regions that didn't change time for daylight savings.

Jon, I wanted to say again, thank you for playing so much Sweeping Promises, they're one of my favorite newish bands of the last few years, and this is where I first heard them.

Getting ready for the first 0-degree day of my life. Any advice?

Dan, definitely layer. If you have long underwear, use it.

Let the car warm up. Give the engine time.

Warming up the car is always good advice.

It definitely doesn't work the same in the deep cold.

Mary, Sweeping Promises very much rule. They deserve all the success they're finding.

We did not lose power last night but several I know were not as fortunate.

I will believe in snow when I see it.

We hunkered down and enjoyed the latkes were were supposed to make in December. They were delicious, as was the buche de noel.

...but there's always my battery powered FM radio tuned digitally to 103.3 Mz.

I had the hand-crank radio / battery charger combo + several buckets prepped just in case.

..I has a hand crank if the batteries go dead..LOL!

Only real worry near where I live was a tree balanced so precariously a couple yards over another neighbor knocked on our door this morning to warn us about it.

Hopefully the town makes the owner take it down before the next round...

My place here in Baltimore sprung a coupla' leaks last night. Sort of patched it. fingers crossed

I once described some band as "the Dutch Sebadoh". These days, I'd much rather go to bat for "the Caribbean Slipknot".

OK, I gotta check out that Chills reissue, but also, I love that that Mats remaster makes "Dose of Thunder" sound like the hair metal it always deep-down was.

Am I crazy? those Ed Stasium mixes are cool and I like them - but they're not THAT different - at least to me. little differences. I don't know - I'm used to the normal TIM I guess

DJT, some songs are more different than others--I think some of the songs do kind of shine a little more, the bass and drums sound better, but some songs don't sound that different (Bastards) and some I think suffer a little (Regular).

MJ - I should listen again maybe. I do like them - punchier I guess? less muddy? they were my faves as a yung'n. I saw them on the Hootenanny tour at Friendship Station in Bethesda MD and fell in love with them. I don't think they played one of their own songs that night. saw them many times after. Hootenanny might be my fave!

Definitely less muddy. I love the songs on Tim, and always found that mix really thin, so I love the new mix, but I also love the old one because it's what I know. Ah well. The Mats are maybe my favorite band (that and R.E.M., because sure, I'm late Gen X), and I never got to see them until the '15 reunion.

Hootenanny is a good record to be a favorite--"Within Your Reach" still gives me chills.

I have not connected with the other tracks I've heard off "Michael" but this does the trick for me.

The kid told me she liked a couple Replacements songs she heard us play. Promising!

I tried a couple other songs on "Michael" and it didn't hit for me. Let me know if you have favorites!

I think every kid likes Taylor Swift, it is just to what degree they like Taylor Swift. I'd say my kid is a 4.3 while her cousin is like 9.7 (out of 10).

Mats at Maxwells is pretty great. I saw them for the first time right around then in Philly then Boston.

I propose we make a pact to each purchase a 2023 release and also listen to a 2023 release we've been meaning to check out between this show and the next one.
