he was instrumental in helping the buffalo springfield in the early times

I think Commie meant that her selected theme "Interjections" was chosen in honor of Essra. So most likely she'll play that Schoolhouse Rock song of hers. And many other artists with a strong exclamation kind of song title or lyrics perhaps?

I think Dusty Springfield did a couple Bachrach songs.

I played a lot of Burt Bacharach tunes on my accordion when I was learning the instrument - We played This Guy's In Love with You as a standard with my wedding band - always got a few smiles and thumbs up.

For me a sad loss this year was Paul Reubens - Pee Wee's Playhouse was a sort of visual Jazz - Died July 30, 2023

Someone took me to see Essra in Philly. I did not know who she was. It was a very jammed small club - everyone was very excited she was performing. the hype was big. I enjoyed it but again, did not really know her music.

Thanks for this, Jerry....I lived in Philly and had the biggest crush on Essra back then, and hadn't heard of her death. I saw her at the Main Point, I believe, and probably a couple of others.
