The Carrier Frequency (Original 1984 Stage Production Score) Finders Keepers Records 2020
music from an odd post-apocalyptic play by Lansdale-born writer Russell Hoban. The play is about a post-nuclear world, where brutalised steel and concrete structures rise from a giant pool of water. It depicts six figures lost in an absurd and exhausting ritual, trying to revive a departed civilisation. Despite its harrowing subject matter, the show retains moments of ludicrous slapstick and verbal wit.

Hello and welcome to the Last Doubleplusgood of 2023!
Alan Pasnyk 5:02:38 PM
Lizzzzbot! Hello! Hello! To a fellow ex-Fairmounter..How goes it ???
Lizbot (host) 5:03:47 PM
Hi Alan Pasnyk! It goes well. I'm LRBing because my brother brought Covid to my mom's house for Christmas! I'm so far fine, as is everyone in my household, so fingers crossed!
Lizbot (host) 5:04:51 PM
@Alan - How are you?
Lizbot (host) 5:04:56 PM
There are guys working on the house next door in the rain...we'll see if their construction sounds make for a sound bath on the mic breaks, but I think they're packing up now.
Alan Pasnyk 5:06:13 PM
Lizbot: Hey, I'm doing pretty well, no COVID, had my shingles shot etc....
Alan Pasnyk 5:06:47 PM
Hope the parrot(s) and bots are doing well
Lizbot (host) 5:07:30 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - Yeah, a LOT of friends have gotten Covid or some other nasty illness in the past week. Definitely a lot of confirmed covid. Blech. I was going to go see The Lilys this weekend, but now I don't know
Lizbot (host) 5:08:01 PM
This next song goes out to all the covid and other viruses making the rounds right now
Alan Pasnyk 5:10:07 PM
...but in War of the Worlds, they did in the Martians...Ha!!!
Alan Pasnyk 5:11:04 PM
Tom Cruise in War of the Worlds is pretttty creepy/spooky....
Lizbot (host) 5:14:59 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - Never seen his version, but I have heard the radio play! I like space soundtracks. Maybe I'll bring out Forbidden Planet soundtrack next week. That one is very odd for its time. A husband and wife duo of early synth composer
Alan Pasnyk 5:16:55 PM
Forbidden Planet was wayy ahead of it's time for special effects, but sorry, I didn't really pay too much attention to the soundtrack, my bad...
Alan Pasnyk 5:18:36 PM
...but Lovin' this Kosmischer, esp. the bass beat..
Lizbot (host) 5:20:08 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - There are FIVE volumes of this Kosmischer Läufer stuff! Lots of good tracks
Lizbot (host) 5:23:21 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - Forbidden Planet managed to achieve a sense of excitement and unease throughout. I really like that movie. The weird soundtrack was by Louis and Bebe Barron, true electronic music pioneers
Alan Pasnyk 5:25:02 PM
@ Lizbot: Yes, the "unease" is what I think makes it a great film....I have a DVD I watch once every couple years....
Alan Pasnyk 5:27:03 PM
...but next time I watch it, I'll pay attention to the music more, not totally because I love the Special effects too much!
Lizbot (host) 5:32:54 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - The special effects are pretty great too! I gotta show it to my kid. We went through a spate of space movies we watched together a couple of years ago but didn't get to that one. Now it might be a hard sell!
George Korein 5:33:01 PM
See creature, sea creature, CC creature, see what you have done
Lizbot (host) 5:33:20 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - And the soundtrack is definitely not catchy. It's odd for sure
Alan Pasnyk 5:33:37 PM
BTW, Really good FM signal here just north of Doylestown...

Queue the "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" bass line
George Korein 5:38:05 PM
Alan Pasnyk 5:44:13 PM
@ Lizbot: If you're going to watch it with your daughter, there's a part in it which is more than a bit too "mushy" where actor Leslie overdoes it, may cause rolling of the eyes in the younger generation LOL
Lizbot (host) 5:47:29 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - Ha! Well, she is probably not even going to get that far. Back in 2020 we had a lot of extra time with her, with remote school and all, and we made a point of watching a wide array of [often silly] space/sci-fi movies, many of which featured robots/robot-children. One that was worthwhile and shot in Princeton, NJ! was Anna to the Infinite Power
Lizbot (host) 5:48:19 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - She was totally game for it then, but now she's decidedly pickier and often doesn't want to commit to a movie until I thoroughly convince her. Usually that works out.
Lizbot (host) 5:50:03 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - But because of that, I have to choose wisely! She's not into space/sci-fi stuff at the moment and never was really into sci-fi. Those movies in 2020 were more about fun mid-century to 80s ideas of space/robots/camp. She doesn't watch as many movies as I did at her age, PROBABLY because she has the internet and I didn't!
George Korein 5:51:37 PM
Hahah Suite!
Joe Moore 5:52:13 PM
That Eno and Hyde jam
Joe Moore 5:52:19 PM
Lizbot (host) 5:52:33 PM
Hi Joe Moore! Glad you liked it!
Alan Pasnyk 5:53:20 PM
@ Lizbot: She'll probably come around in about, say 20 years though...lol
Lizbot (host) 5:54:53 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - It's possible! haha, she might be more willing to humor me then!
Lizbot (host) 5:56:08 PM
Once again, a walking upright bass and brushed cymbals call to mind the Mario 2 soundtrack in my 80s brain FIRST, and THEN other jazz stuff
Alan Pasnyk 5:57:10 PM
Flight of the Armadillo???
Lizbot (host) 5:58:11 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - haha, flight followed by serenade. I hope this 'dillo doesn't end up under some tractor wheels!
George Korein 5:58:20 PM
The armadillo in Nuala’s stocking
Alan Pasnyk 5:59:15 PM
...shades of Ogden Nash...
Lizbot (host) 6:01:39 PM
@George Korein - Nuala doesn't find the armadillo from her stocking darling at all, due, I suspect, to a faulty squeaker
Alan Pasnyk 6:02:06 PM
...oooooo! Bel Canto....shoegazy Norwegian no less....:)
Number 6 6:03:03 PM
Greetings all, 5 PM slipped my mind, so I'm a bit late.
Alan Pasnyk 6:03:49 PM
#6 !!! Hello!!!
Lizbot (host) 6:04:31 PM
Hello Number 6! No worries! This whole week my timing is weird - It's that odd week between Christmas and New Year's when time moves strangely!
Alan Pasnyk 6:05:25 PM
It's like: Get a weeks worth of stuff done in 4 oddball rainy days...
Lizbot (host) 6:06:45 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - Definitely some overlap between Ogden Nash and Flanders and Swann. I wouldn't be surprised if F&S were influenced by his animal poems
Lizbot (host) 6:08:00 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - I'm glad these past few days since Christmas have been rainy because it's helping me get better sleep! I was blearily achingly sleep-deprived with way too much to do nonstop in the week before Christmas and I got amazing sleep last night. I am a light sleeper, so I was psyched!
Alan Pasnyk 6:08:12 PM
Bel Canto and Laura Marling track in the same key, through the magic of FM and laptop I can play both simultaneously...
Number 6 6:10:04 PM
@Lizbot- Sometimes I think that the Barge is haunted, I keep hearing doors opening and closing, but I never see anyone, so maybe LRBing is a good thing.
Lizbot (host) 6:10:11 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - ahhh, I will have to try that later
Lizbot (host) 6:11:13 PM
@Number 6 - yeah, The Barge has a strange vibe. I think it's people living in the vents and walls of the building. Explains a lot.
Alan Pasnyk 6:13:29 PM
"In other news, police were amazed to find the remains of mobster 'Frankie Marongie' in the wall of a Princeton radio station"
Alan Pasnyk 6:14:50 PM
(during a remodeling project, of course!!)
Lizbot (host) 6:15:12 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - More like the remains of field mice who met their demise trying to flee construction equipment from the building behind us!
Mary Jones 6:15:26 PM
Good evening Liz Bot and chat—this has been a good set for sitting by a fire and dozing off and on.
Alan Pasnyk 6:15:43 PM
"Frankie was not "off the wall" he was...in it!!
Joe Moore 6:17:30 PM
Hey George Korein if you are still here - your songs during the marathon ruled! Those tunes will definitely be an enduring memory of christmas '23!
Lizbot (host) 6:18:23 PM
Good Evening, Mary! Thanks! Glad you're enjoying it! I hope you feel better soon
Lizbot (host) 6:18:59 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - And THAT was actually what Alan Vega was singing about when he sang Frankie Teardrop
Mary Jones 6:19:09 PM
Thanks! The fever is down, so I’m just taking it easy today. Post-Christmas, work dried up, so I was able to take off today, which helped a lot.
Lizbot (host) 6:19:21 PM
@Joe Moore - I don't know if he's here, but I'm sure he'd appreciate that!
Number 6 6:20:09 PM
@Lizbot- One time I couldn't get in and a guy upstairs answered the door, so it is at least partially rented.
Lizbot (host) 6:20:30 PM
@Mary Jones - That's good! Today was a good day for sleeping! I caught up on my John Hodgman listening with the Christmas office party episode and now I can be grossed out by an entirely new combination of unlikely beverages
Lizbot (host) 6:21:38 PM
@Number 6 - The guitar teacher? I sometimes encounter his students coming and going
Number 6 6:23:54 PM
That Ganger song reminds me of a group called "Stars of the Lid".
Lizbot (host) 6:24:36 PM
@Mary Jones - A lot of friends and family are sick right now. I've managed to [narrowly] avoid the circulating crud thus far. Unfortunately my brother brought Covid to my mom's house on Christmas Eve. He slept there and tested positive Christmas morning, but thankfully before we got there. We would've spent the whole day there, but instead we had a short distanced masked affair in the yard and called it a day before it got dark. Sad, but necessary. My brother didn't come downstairs.
Lizbot (host) 6:25:14 PM
@Mary Jones - My mom now has it, though. She got a lot more exposure than us. We were very careful so think..HOPE...we'll be good!
Lizbot (host) 6:26:26 PM
@Number 6 - huh, I saw them open for Mogwai at the TLA in around '98 or so - first time they came to the states - and they blew Mogwai away. They slept at my friend John's apartment
Mary Jones 6:26:26 PM
@Lizbot somehow not seems we don’t have Covid—we keep testing negative, so hopefully it’s right—but yeah, half the family is sick from seeing each other on Christmas Eve. Thankfully my mom and sister seem to have escaped it.
Number 6 6:26:46 PM
I think that I got that RSV thing a month ago. I got the flu shot but the RSV shot wasn't covered yet and was $300.
Mary Jones 6:26:59 PM
I’m so sorry your plans were disrupted like that—hopefully you’ll see each other soon for a proper holiday.
Mary Jones 6:27:29 PM
@Number 6 yeah, we are up to date on Covid and flu shots, so maybe it’s RSV here too.
Mary Jones 6:27:58 PM
@Lizbot fingers crossed you dodged the bullet!
Number 6 6:28:41 PM
I had a sore throat last week, but nothing else seems to have come of it.
Wes Steenson 6:29:22 PM
The Cheerful Insanity of Giles, Giles, and Fripp. They sound like the nicest patients in the asylum… 🦜
Wes Steenson 6:30:10 PM
@Mary Jones - hope you feel better soon. 🎬🎞️
Mary Jones 6:34:39 PM
@Wes thank you! Today is better than yesterday thankfully
Lizbot (host) 6:35:12 PM
Hi Wes Steenson!
Addie 🐍 🐍 Plum 6:36:38 PM
Hellooooo everyone! Happy Thursday evening!
Lizbot (host) 6:37:09 PM
@Wes Steenson - haha, If I am to believe half the former members of King Crimson who were interviewed for the recent doc, In the Court of the Crimson King: King Crimson at 50, Fripp is most decidedly NOT the nicest patient in the asylum! But I love him nonetheless! Kinda like my crazy demanding parrot, who lives up to his namesake!
Lizbot (host) 6:37:14 PM
Hello Addie!
Lizbot (host) 6:38:00 PM
@Number 6 - I kept getting sore throats this fall that thankfully went away quickly without developing into anything worse. Glad you're feeling better
Lizbot (host) 6:39:04 PM
@Mary Jones - Yeah, my mom got the latest shot but my brother didn't. They all have it now. We just did a quick damp chilly gift-exchange in the yard. At least it was unseasonably warm!
Lizbot (host) 6:39:25 PM
First armadillos...now...
Lizbot (host) 6:39:59 PM
...what is it, Robert??
Lizbot (host) 6:40:39 PM
@Addie - I hope ur sneks slithered up your tree and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Lizbot (host) 6:41:11 PM
I love this song almost too much.
Joe Moore 6:42:08 PM
Yeah this rules.
Lizbot (host) 6:42:29 PM
@Joe Moore - Pigs? In there??
Brian D 6:42:55 PM
Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs (in there) (3 different ones)
Addie 🐍 🐍 Plum 6:43:39 PM
@lizbot thankfully no sneks in trees! Tho they’d like that very much, I’m sure. Especially Frodo.
Andrew G 6:44:59 PM
hallo all
Lizbot (host) 6:45:10 PM
@Brian D - Pigs and all the piggies too. But not the Pink Floyd inflatable pig. He drifted away.
Lizbot (host) 6:45:14 PM
@Mary Jones - I keep hearing from more and more friends and family who either just tested positive for Covid or are otherwise sick. Blech. My only fun plans this coming weekend were an outdoor garden - Longwood - which I can still do safely and just stay mostly outdoors and mask indoors, since it seems so much crud is going around. But the other plan was tickets to The Lilys, which I might have to skip... :(
Lizbot (host) 6:45:20 PM
Hi Andrew G!
Wes Steenson 6:46:51 PM
@Lizbot I had to rethink my feelings about RF after seeing the documentary. And former Blue Grass Boys tell stories about how difficult Bill Monroe was to work for… 🪕
Lizbot (host) 6:46:58 PM
@Addie - Fripp the conure managed to zip over to the top of our Christmas tree one year and posed right on the tip, like the star he is. But mercifully he didn't taunt me from up there and make me go get him. He got drunk on power for maybe a minute, but then freaked himself out and flew straight to his human mother. Wuss bird.
Lizbot (host) 6:49:58 PM
@Wes Steenson - I'd always heard the legend of Fripp being difficult, so I was steeling myself for some true insufferable jerkiness from him in the doc, but considering that, it didn't seem as bad as I had expected! Take Belew, for instance - He was SO bitter about not being asked back to the group, BUT King Crimson has ALWAYS been rotating line-ups and it's not like he was an original member. I guess I'm just a Fripp apologist, but I'm grateful to him for what he created!
Rob from Merryland 🎄 6:51:12 PM
Good evening everyone
Lizbot (host) 6:51:25 PM
Hi Rob from Maryland! I hope your holidays went well!
Andrew G 6:51:34 PM
hey rob!
Rob from Merryland 🎄 6:53:00 PM
Hi Lizbot and Andrew G! My/our holidays are going well, ty. I hope yours are too!
Wes Steenson 6:53:19 PM
@Lizbot But Monroe was a notorious philanderer. RF and Toyah have stayed married for 37 years, so that’s a big plus in my book. At least someone gets along with him.
Lizbot (host) 6:54:19 PM
Must "get through December" without getting sick! Only 3 more days to go!
Wes Steenson 6:54:30 PM
Wishing a safe and happy New Year to all the ::DoublePlusChatters::!
Brian D 6:57:00 PM
Ya read the Fripp / Crim bio book that came out few years back. He's quirky, cranky, funny, silly, witty etc. Complicated but he did not commit crimes or anything. Looking through show biz history and throwing the proverbial stick, one is bound to hit some like him. Glad he put together the bands he did so they could put out the music
Lizbot (host) 6:57:11 PM
@Wes Steenson - Yeah, I consider that a testament to him and they have some creative energy they channel together with their whole Robert & Toyah's Sunday Brunch thing! I read they have two adjoining houses with a garden that connects them. Maybe that helps!
Brian D 6:58:32 PM
Look forward to seeing the docu
Lizbot (host) 6:59:54 PM
@Brian D & @Wes Steenson - You need a Fripp sometimes to keep a band not just going for 50+ years, but actually still pulling off great performances. I gotta read that book! I bought George Tony Levin's photo book and the doc for Christmas last year.
Brian D 7:00:01 PM
Love the Bill Monroe bio book written by frequent chatter here Richard Smith. Mr Monroe was quite a character yes!
Lizbot (host) 7:01:01 PM
@Wes Steenson - Happy New Year!
Andrew G 7:01:43 PM
I would love to not get sick! Both of my teenage kids have been sick this week. Don't want to miss Lilys at Johnny Brenda's this weekend!
Lizbot (host) 7:02:07 PM
@Brian D - One thing that was really nice in the doc was seeing a lot of the last performances and last interviews of the great Bill Rieflin
Brian D 7:02:32 PM
I want to read Bill Bruford's auto bio too. Last I checked it was only paper no eBook
Lizbot (host) 7:04:03 PM
@Andrew G - SAME. I already have tickets for the 12/30 show that I bought months ago. My teen says she's feeling out of it today, but I don't think she's sick, just sleep-deprived. We MIGHT have gotten away with [a very truncated] Christmas disease-free, BUT I'm nervous to be in a crowd this week with all the pathogens having one big party I the wake of everyone's holiday celebrations!
Lizbot (host) 7:05:47 PM
@Brian D - Gonna have to hunt that one down
Matt Sabbath 7:07:27 PM
This set is on fire
Lizbot (host) 7:07:37 PM
@Brian D / @Wes Steenson - I randomly watched about 10 minutes of one of Patricia Fripp's seminars on public speaking a couple days ago. Fripp had posted a photo of he & his sister circa 1964 or so and I remembered she was a public speaker and had to compare their voices/styles. They sound alike for sure
Lizbot (host) 7:08:07 PM
Hi Matt Sabbath! Glad you like it! Enjoy the cold comfort of the thin pillow.
Roffle 7:08:20 PM
Definitely sounds like Fripp tunings here. :)
Lizbot (host) 7:09:01 PM
Hi Roffle! I wouldn't be surprised if some of these guys attended one of Fripp's guitar workshop weekends
Andrew G 7:09:14 PM
I've been to so many shows this year and haven't gotten sick at all, so either my immune system is really jacked up or I'm overdue to pick up some nasty virus
Roffle 7:09:35 PM
Hi Lizbot!
Lizbot (host) 7:11:29 PM
@Andrew G - Yeah, I have been lucky. I haven't gotten sick much. I feel like now I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop... I mask in crowds, so that's helping not get all kinds of contagious crud, but I still managed to get sick more frequently doing the same last year. I think there are particularly contagious bugs going around at the moment
Roffle 7:13:45 PM
Those bugs have been waiting for COVID to die down, so they can make their move.
Matt Sabbath 7:14:24 PM
Take me back to olde Appalachia!
Lizbot (host) 7:14:30 PM
@Brian D - Did you ever read Chris Cutler's book "File Under Popular"? Someone gave me a copy many years ago and I enjoyed some of his musings on popular music, oddball RIO stuff, etc.
Lizbot (host) 7:15:06 PM
@Brian D - Here is the description on RERMegacorp's site: "Theoretical and critical writings on Music. 200pp. Illustrated with woodcuts and Photographs. Chapters on Sun Ra, The Residents, Phil Ochs and Elvis Presley, What Is Popular Music?, Progressive Music in the UK, Necessity and Choice in Musical Forms, Henry Cow, Rock in Opposition etc."
Lizbot (host) 7:15:44 PM
@Roffle - Bugs Wait to Lurk. Raid Kills Bugs Dead.
Lizbot (host) 7:16:15 PM
@Matt Sabbath - A nice adventure!
Roffle 7:20:23 PM
LOL, if aliens show up looking like bugs it's on, with bandoleers full of Raid for sure.
Lizbot (host) 7:22:07 PM
@Roffle - I think all the bugs, Covid & RSV are having one big viral office party right now
Roffle 7:23:16 PM
I think they have certainly worked hard for it these past few years.
Lizbot (host) 7:23:50 PM
@Roffle - But if we've learned anything from Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and every UFO book or sketch from Area 51 obsessives, the aliens ONLY can be humanoid green or gray with MASSIVE almond-shaped saucer eyes
Roffle 7:24:34 PM
Close enough to a bug for me.
Roffle 7:25:09 PM
They don't even wear clothes!
Alan Pasnyk 7:26:58 PM
No spacesuits, that really "bugs" me, almost as much as those Big Heads with skinny necks, Structurally Inadequate!!!!
Roffle 7:27:02 PM
And just wait until the evangelicals get to them. They will be begging for the Raid instead.
Alan Pasnyk 7:27:17 PM
@Roffle: Hi !!!
Lizbot (host) 7:27:22 PM
@Roffle - Yeah, I put a hex on and X out their accursed exoskeletons
Roffle 7:27:31 PM
Heya Alan!
Lizbot (host) 7:27:51 PM
@Roffles - Lends a new meaning to conducting raids!
Roffle 7:28:12 PM
It does!
Alan Pasnyk 7:29:37 PM
An Alfred Hitchcock Windmills...
Alan Pasnyk 7:30:01 PM
Stab, stab, STAB!!!!
Lizbot (host) 7:30:18 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - JUST ONCE, I want a movie to show one of those big-headed aliens dramatically descend the stairs of its UFO, only for our Earth's gravity to pin its enormous dome to the dirt, and then it has to drag its head awkwardly when it asks to speak to our leader. Needle-necks!
Alan Pasnyk 7:32:00 PM
Octopus Aliens...Much better!
Lizbot (host) 7:32:26 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - Get The Residents on board and Duck Stab them! Mars Attacks was a documentary from the future. We can't trust 'em!
Roffle 7:32:29 PM
Alan Pasnyk 7:34:54 PM
Grizzly... :)
Lizbot (host) 7:34:59 PM
Or maybe they are meant to drag their heads on the ground, even on their home planet. Maybe what looks like a head to us is a butt or a single foot. Reminds me of a moment in the Hayao Miyazaki documentary when some computer animation students try to convince Miyazaki, master of hand-drawn animation, to use a computer animation program that uses AI and he berates it in horror when he sees the unnatural human-esque figure the AI creates dragging its head on the ground and crawling
Lizbot (host) 7:35:13 PM
Some sort of chanting monks have entered this songs
Lizbot (host) 7:35:18 PM
Roffle 7:36:45 PM
If this is the only interesting place for them to go, then their heads are definitely butts.
Alan Pasnyk 7:36:50 PM
Butt Heads?? "Excuse me, I have to go to the restroom"...
Lizbot (host) 7:37:32 PM
@Roffle - You tell 'em! We will neg them back into their spaceships!
Roffle 7:38:46 PM
They show for Disney and get Wally World. Tragic.
Wes Steenson 7:38:56 PM
Windmills Of Your Mind in instrumental versions was a staple of the Beautiful Music radio my parents listened to.
Lizbot (host) 7:39:37 PM
@Alan Pasnyk - They're an entire planet of Butthead from Beavis & Butthead and they've arrived with one single demand: For MTV to play music videos all day again so they can provide commentary. Maybe one day we'll receive a visit from planet VH1 bringing tidings of new episodes of Pop-Up Video.
Lizbot (host) 7:40:00 PM
@Wes Steenson - Oooh, I want to hear all the versions!
Lizbot (host) 7:40:32 PM
@Roffle - If National Lampoon's taught me anything, it's that it's a long way down the holiday road.
Randy Marthins 7:41:54 PM
@Lizbot "@Roffle - But if we've learned anything from Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and every UFO book or sketch from Area 51 obsessives, the aliens ONLY can be humanoid green or gray with MASSIVE almond-shaped saucer eyes" except they contradicted that almost immediately "Einstein was probably one of THEM" so the could also look like regular grandpas
Roffle 7:41:59 PM
And taking the mother in law doesn't always end well in general.
Wes Steenson 7:42:03 PM
In Norway the week between Xmas and New Year’s is called ROMJUL, which is about the most metal name for a holiday I’ve ever heard. HAPPY ROMJUL!! 🤘🤘
Roffle 7:42:42 PM
ROMJUL? I like that!
Lizbot (host) 7:42:57 PM
Hi Randy Marthins! Einstein's HAIR was the alien, simply using a regular Earth grandpa as a transportation device
Lizbot (host) 7:43:21 PM
@Wes Steenson - I saw your post about ROMJUL earlier today and almost named this episode that
Wes Steenson 7:43:30 PM
Holiday Road is one of the weirdest songs Lindsey Buckingham ever recorded. And don’t get me started about the video…
Lizbot (host) 7:43:36 PM
@Wes Steenson - It also sounds like the name of a black metal band
Lizbot (host) 7:44:01 PM
@Wes Steenson - Which is fitting since it's a term from the frozen Scandi north
Lizbot (host) 7:44:22 PM
I saw ROMJUL opening for Rammstein
Roffle 7:45:40 PM
Rammstein or Ramadan? :)
Randy Marthins 7:45:59 PM
ROMJUL is the opposite of KlingonKristmas
Lizbot (host) 7:47:02 PM
@Randy Marthins - If KlingonKristmas is a thing, and I won't be surprised if it is, I want a recording of their carols. No, on second though, I really really don't!
Randy Marthins 7:47:21 PM
Or Spocknukka
Roffle 7:48:27 PM
Thanks Lizbot! Nice tunes for a chill night. Off to get some dumplings soon! HAPPY ROMJUL everyone!
Wes Steenson 7:48:55 PM
@Lizbot I saw ROMJUL at Pickathon in Portland. Their set ended early because a drone flew over the stage and cut off the man buns of a couple of musicians.
Wes Steenson 7:49:47 PM
@Roffle Happy ROMJUL! 🤘🤘
Randy Marthins 7:52:06 PM

@ Lizbot: It's been a Fun show! Thanks, Have a Great new year & bcnu!
Lizbot (host) 7:56:33 PM
Should I do a Best of 2023 next week?? I am honestly on the fence. I enjoy making those lists sometimes, but I also feel like I'm drowning in end of the year lists!@
Lizbot (host) 7:56:48 PM
Thanks, Alan! Have a great New Year's!
Ossy 7:57:08 PM
Wait for Halloween 2024 with Ghoulbot monster that smells like bleu milky cheese LOL
Wes Steenson 7:57:15 PM
Happy ROMJUL and a safe and happy New Year everyone! ♥️
Lizbot (host) 7:57:15 PM
There is something about Blackstar that makes me want to play it at the very end of the year. Maybe death and rebirth
Lizbot (host) 7:58:57 PM
@Wes Steenson - I love the Holiday Road music video! It seems to take inspiration from Terry Gilliam's Brazil, and Lindsay Buckinham shiny yuppie suit is blinding
Lizbot (host) 7:59:43 PM
@Ossy - oh boy, what smell would draw out the Killbot, I wonder??
Lizbot (host) 7:59:52 PM
See you all in 2024!
Lizbot (host) 8:01:20 PM
Have a safe and happy/healthy New Year!
