If vildachaya1 saw the Buzzcocks circa 2000, I was there too. I had bought Pete Shelley’s lousy 1989 album for $1 and wanted to get rid of it, but who would buy it? I hate to simply throw things away, so I brought the LP to Maxwell’s that night and left it near the doorway. After the show, I was happy to see somebody had taken it. That solved my problem but maybe the record’s new owner then repeated my experience, hating his acquisition but wondering how to guiltlessly dispose of it!

Tuning a string is all it really takes.

Just me though.

When I last saw Holly Golightly a few years ago in Belmar, I recalled to her the time I saw her play at Red Bank’s Black Cat Records (owned by Lifetime’s Ari) in 1999. She didn’t remember, and thought I was talking about the D.C. venue.

I went to see the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club at the Saint years ago, because of my interest in “The Wild One”. Because a band that named themselves after Lee Marvin’s gang in that movie became the biggest musical act ever, those guys decided to try their luck by naming themselves after Marlon Brando’s band in the same movie.
