Steve Roach is a savant. I wish I could travel to Arizona just to see one of his live performances.

i was outside taking the trash and recycling out... listening on my airpods... the moon is glowing through a heavy haze. the only other object visible is Jupiter, just off the moon's right (our left) shoulder

Jupiter is less than a thumb's width at arm's length off the moon's right shoulder

Funny was playing some of Mario Galaxy along with these and N64 to fit with the relaxing chill ambience

all of us solar system planets... we're like 9 people around a blazing campfire

one summer evening, just after sunset, i saw just that: planets around a campfire... that night, mars, jupiter and venus lined up, looking like, from my view, three objects around a campfire (below the horizon)

that view, very 3D was life changing. it was only 3 or 4 years ago, at a 4h of july party

Long childhood ago, a friend and I thought we heard little aliens that landed in a hole we dug and hearing a "hello" from below. Turned out to be a passersby speaking on his phone

Os, that was when i lived in central pennsylvania, farming country, no light pollution

speaking of light pollution, it was so dark out there, you could see a blob of light for NYC, Phila, and Baltimore-Washington megaburb.

Dang wow, that's loads of a distance to see that blob of light

NYC was about 100 miles to the northeast. balto-washington was about 40-60 miles southeast. philly was due east about 100 miles.,

the cities were below the horizon, but the collective lights of the cities would project up into the atmosphere, reflected back by any particles or clouds.

imagine a black sky, with large, soft puffs of light in the distance, NYC being about 3-or-4 fingers wide

This might be one of the best shows of 2023.
