Hello Hello! High energy show ahead today! A 2nd installation of ++good in the same week!
Number 6 5:00:56 PM
Greetings, any more interesting station IDs lined up?
Lizbot (host) 5:01:13 PM
Hi Number 6!
Rob from Maryland 5:02:17 PM
Hello
Lizbot (host) 5:02:29 PM
Hi Rob from Maryland!
Lizbot (host) 5:04:22 PM
@Number 6 - We'll see! I have a one involving animal grunts and snorts that I am in the mood to play today and is in keeping with the somewhat absurdist tone of today's show
Number 6 5:04:49 PM
Cool!
Lizbot (host) 5:07:27 PM
@Rob from Maryland - What's the haps in Maryland today?
Rob from Maryland 5:07:57 PM
Ooh, animal snorts? Yes!
Rob from Maryland 5:08:38 PM
In Maryland, let's see. Not a whole lot going on in my neighborhood.
Lizbot (host) 5:08:56 PM
@Number 6 - This is definitely going to be a more hyper show than Tuesday's, and I have some movie recommendations as well. The new Miyazaki - The Boy & The Heron - has a good deal of animal snorting!
Rob from Maryland 5:09:48 PM
The rare bird in Ocean County that I mentioned last week, the Red-flanked Bluetail, was last seen early Sunday morning, just before the rain started. I'm glad I didn't decide to try for it on Tuesday or Monday
Lizbot (host) 5:11:00 PM
@Rob from Maryland - No animal snorts, even? The local foxes that live down by the SEPTA train station near me have been out and about hunting earlier in the evening, what with the early sunset. They haven't been as vocal as they generally are in late winter /early spring when they scream their vixen call all night, but they're getting bold
Rob from Maryland 5:13:20 PM
@Lizbot, nope. No foxes have been in our neighborhood recently. I still remember the time one woke me up at 3 or 4 in the morning, screaming just outside the house.
Rob from Maryland 5:13:43 PM
Hello Number 6
Number 6 5:14:30 PM
Hi Rob!
Addie 🐍 🐍 Plum 5:14:43 PM
Hellooo and happy Thursday everyone! About to hit the road home from work but I’m listening in.
Number 6 5:15:21 PM
@Lizbot- I think that the original of this recently charted again'
Lizbot (host) 5:15:22 PM
Hi Addie! Glad you're hear and listening! Safe home!
Lizbot (host) 5:16:21 PM
@Rob from Maryland - The first time I heard foxes' characteristic screams...the first winter I spent in my house...I was so spooked. I thought it was a person!
Parrscream 5:17:25 PM
Hey Lizbot! Of course when kids sports ended we took a long trip to Disney so I couldn't even listen to your show the past two weeks! But I'm FINALLY here now! :-)
Lizbot (host) 5:18:18 PM
Hello Parrscream! I was wondering where you were off to! I hope your trip went well!
Lizbot (host) 5:19:39 PM
@Parrscream - My 9th grader just performed in her first high school winter concert last night. She left choir to do dance instead, and her dance troupe performed with the band and orchestra...Thriller...of all songs! An off but fun choice for a winter concert!
Parrscream 5:20:00 PM
It was great! The trip had drama (ER vistis, First Aid Station visits, bee stings), injuries (my dad's back, my leg) and lots of kids enjoyment and crazienss!!!
Parrscream 5:21:03 PM
Oh my gosh Liz! Thanks so much for telling me! That is so amazing! ANd sounds awesome! So glad she is doing that!
Chef Emeril Lagasse 🍳 MONTHLY DOUGH-NER 5:21:20 PM
LIZBOT! BAM! Very delicious set so far, also I heard forget me not on wprb like a year or two ago and ironically forgot the name and thought it was lost forever UNTIL NOW BAMMMM
Lizbot (host) 5:21:29 PM
@Parrscream - Oh no! Sounds pretty stressful! ER?? Did all of those injuries occur on park rides??
Lizbot (host) 5:21:48 PM
Hi Chef Emeril Lagasse 🍳 MONTHLY DOUGH-NER!
George Korein 5:21:51 PM
The microwave sounds like that? 😮
Rob from Maryland 5:21:54 PM
@Lizbot, it was quite unnerving. I think I went to the window and gently opened the curtain. I didn't see anything, but I think the fox saw me and stopped screaming
Gautham Kalva 5:22:00 PM
Hi @lizbot - This Niv Ast song 'I remember' is so good. Thanks for introducing me to this one..
Jenna Forte 5:22:17 PM
I am loving this
Lizbot (host) 5:22:40 PM
Welcome, Jenna Forte! I'm glad you're enjoying it! Thanks for tuning in!
Lizbot (host) 5:22:56 PM
Hi George Korein - haha, I guess it's one special microwave!
Lizbot (host) 5:23:38 PM
@Chef Emeril Lagasse 🍳 MONTHLY DOUGH-NER - Thanks! Glad you could help you remember to not forget me not!
Lizbot (host) 5:23:50 PM
Hi Gautham Kalva!
Parrscream 5:24:28 PM
Nope. None on rides. My dad tweaked his back a couple weeks prior to the trip and he was the one who went to the ER. He was wheeled out of the room on a stretcher. :-D
Lizbot (host) 5:24:40 PM
@Gautham Kalva - Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, that was one that came out of my making two remembering/forgetting themed songs for the station this fall
Parrscream 5:25:03 PM
I blew out my hamstring a couple years ago and have never been the same since. When I do a ton of walking it always bothers me. It was really aggrivated while we were there.
Parrscream 5:25:33 PM
And my mom got stung by a bee in the hot tub on our resort day... one of three people to get stung in that hot tub that day, ha ha!
Lizbot (host) 5:26:28 PM
@Rob from Maryland - The foxes in my neighborhood are BOLD, owing in no small part to the fact that a neighbor feeds them, and now this one fox and his mate and kits have decided the train station at the corner of my block is THEIR turf and they don't back down to dogs or anyone. To quote Kathleen Hanna: "That [fox] thinks it's the queen of the neighborhood. I have news for you: It IS!"
Lizbot (host) 5:27:24 PM
@Parrscream - Yikes!!!
Parrscream 5:29:09 PM
We are all smiles and laughs about it. Our family always brings the drama... especially when there is 10 of us.
Parrscream 5:29:26 PM
Liz - Is your daughter enjoying Dance?
Chef Emeril Lagasse 🍳 MONTHLY DOUGH-NER 5:30:45 PM
Bobby flay...
Ossy 5:31:08 PM
Hi Space Lady Bot!
Rob from Maryland 5:31:22 PM
@Lizbot, 😂 re the Bikini Kill foxes
Lizbot (host) 5:31:25 PM
HI Ossy!
Parrscream 5:31:48 PM
That Say She She album is so fun!
Lizbot (host) 5:33:44 PM
@Parrscream - Oh god, yeah, I have an old knee injury that REALLY acts up when I do a ton of walking. I was very worried about it when we took my daughter there when she was 7 and I took an inflammatory my doctor prescribed right before the trip - Unfortunately, I had not taken that RX before and had a bad reaction to it and was so sick the whole trip!
Lizbot (host) 5:35:45 PM
@Parrscream - She IS enjoying dance. I was very surprised to discover it's a graded class, not pass/fail! They meet several times a week. She wanted to take Drawing but that class filled up too fast, and Dance has worked out well
Parrscream 5:36:01 PM
Now it is my tuen to say "YIKES" - Nothing worse than being sick on vacation!
Lizbot (host) 5:36:52 PM
@Rob from Maryland - I love to sing Bikini Kill to the local foxes...and also to my dog, who strongly believes SHE is Queen of the Neighborhood and gets very incensed at the foxes
Parrscream 5:38:12 PM
That's so cool. I wish we had a dance class when I was a kid. Glad she is enjoying it. We're trying to find a club that our 9th grader can get involved with since we paid a ton of money for the "Club Fee" that his school charges. Although he made Honor Roll for the first time ever for the first marking period of high school so we can't be too disappointed.
Lizbot (host) 5:39:41 PM
@Parrscream - Yeah, I just kinda powered through it and still had a fun trip overall, but I was so nauseous the entire time. I covered a LOT of ground, at least! Our only mishap was being on The Carousel of Progress while it broke down and stalled for about 20 minutes, which was very funny - The automaton family robots in the "present day" [1980s] scene kept resetting and then repeating all their lines! It could have been a drinking game.
Lizbot (host) 5:39:51 PM
@Parrscream - There was only one other person in the ride with us and all of us were cracking up!
Lizbot (host) 5:41:18 PM
@Chef Emeril Lagasse 🍳 MONTHLY DOUGH-NER - What are you scheming to do to Bobby Flay? Flay him?!
Lizbot (host) 5:41:30 PM
@Ossy - How's it going, Ossy?
Parrscream 5:41:38 PM
WOW! We love Carousel of Progress and would have loved to be "stuck" in that situation. We were stuck on the Little Mermaid ride this trip and Sebastian Kept repeating that the ride was paused and that the ride was resuming over and over. It was great. I took a video.
Lizbot (host) 5:42:51 PM
@Parrscream - Sorry about your dad's back! Back pain is the woooooorst and always seems so mysterious to me! My lower back has been acting up recently and I don't recall anything significant that might've triggered it. back pain is just like that - could just be grabbing a dish or turning slightly and suddenly in abject pain!
Parrscream 5:44:49 PM
That's exactly what happened to my dad. he was picking up socks off the floor and tweaked it. Although he has had a bad back for a long time. He had surgery on his back in 1991.
Lizbot (host) 5:44:56 PM
@Parrscream - Re: your mom's bee sting - That strikes fear in my heart because I'm allergic to bees! I was in a hotel in Costa Rica that was completely open-air in the middle of the rain forest in the Osa Peninsula and there was a hive of Apoica wasps RIGHT OVER the shower/tub combo! I didnt see until I was in the shower and it was a weird treacherous pit-shower you have to climb slippery tiles steps to escape! Thnkfully didn't get stung!
Parrscream 5:46:48 PM
Holy moly! that is scary as all h*ll! Yes, thankfully you did not get stung! This was the second Disney trip that my mom got stung on. Last time it was on her neck while we were in EPCOT. This time it was on her back at the hotel. To DIsney's credit they called her the next day to see how she was feeling.
Lizbot (host) 5:49:44 PM
@Parrscream - I looked those wasps up based on their crazy opaque bright yellow long banana-shaped bodies, found their name and that their sting is VERY high on the Schmidt Pain Index!
Lizbot (host) 5:52:00 PM
@Parrscream - Geez. I guess I'll lucky I never got stung there! To be fair, I've only been there once in the last 25 years! Bees seem to love your mom! Is she wearing bright floral clothing or carrying anything sweet/wearing a floral perfume? I'll never forget when I borrowed my mom's floral blouse as a kid and the bees 100% were attracted to it and started landing on me!
Parrscream 5:58:24 PM
You know what...? Never noticed or even thought to tie what she was wearing to the bee stings... We told her that it is now a tradition for her to get stung every time we go. :-D

Carlos Ramone. 6:05:48 PM
@Liz..as long as we are talking cooking, whoever was on at 1pm on Wednesday used the Sweet potato pie station ID and gave you credit for it..don’t recall his name
Number 6 6:07:00 PM
That was I!
Lizbot (host) 6:07:06 PM
@Parrscream - I am always looking at every angle to avoid getting stung! The last time was many years ago - when my daughter was about 4 - at Linvilla Orchard in Delaware County. There were bees EVERYWHERE and we were in line for a little kiddie train she really wanted to ride - Unfortunately the line slowly crawled past a trashcan TEEMING with discarded apple cider slushie cups swarmed by dozens of very aggressive bees!

Brian D 6:14:36 PM
Trying to look up that band The Ex and the terms sweet potato pie recipe really gets you a ton of results. Kind of like searching online for the band Television.
Lizbot (host) 6:15:07 PM
@Brian D - mmm, sweet potato pies of Philadelphia! One of my favorite local treats! The Ex knows what's up! I brought one of those to an NYC THanksgiving one year and everyone there, all-non-philadelphians, was confused because they could not accept it was not pumpkin pie.
Brian D 6:16:06 PM

Lizbot (host) 6:21:31 PM

Carlos Ramone. 6:24:09 PM
@brian…from previous posts sounds like are close geographically…have you ever been to Boltons on route 113 when the Amish families are there selling baked goods?
Lizbot (host) 6:27:53 PM
@Carlos Ramone / Brian D - My all-time favorite sweet potato pie was from [the lomg defunct] Basic 4 restaurant in The Reading Terminal. WHen my daughter was born and I was laid up in Pennsylvania Hospital in Center City not far from the RT, I send a family member to get me one and it was the first non-hospital food I'd eaten in days and was like manna from heaven!
Brian D 6:28:31 PM
Aha... right down the road. We got a Tgving turkey from Bolton's years back. That whole stretch of 113 has some great farms. Good CSA at Blooming Glen Farm. And Tussock Sedge Farm has tons of great stuff in the animal varieties. Perkasie Farmer's Mkt great stuff too (Chef Emeril here has played there!). We haven't been to Bolton's in a while gotta go back.
Brian D 6:30:05 PM
And up further near Lake "Nox" our fave pig product (and others) farm Purely Farm. So good. Love this area for home spun family farms. Love supporting them. Easy pickup too.

Mary Jones 6:33:29 PM
@Lizbot we got the car back yesterday, and thank goodness for credit cards. Nothing like a burned out alternator…
Lizbot (host) 6:34:48 PM

@Mary Jones - Remind me, did you get around to recording a MVM episode this week? It would be understandable if you hadn't!
Carlos Ramone. 6:35:29 PM
@brian..turkeys are alive on Saturday…Tuesday and Wednesday waiting to get picked up. They use the fire police to control traffic going in and out
Mary Jones 6:36:29 PM
@Lizbot yeah, I think we’re just under 90K miles—it’s a Corolla, and doesn’t usually give us too many problems.
Lizbot (host) 6:36:42 PM
@Carlos Ramone - whoa. sounds like visiting Linvilla Orchard in October. Part of the reason I stopped going there years ago! Too big a crowd, huge line of cars for a mile + leading up to their overflowing lots
Addie 🐍 🐍 Plum 6:41:04 PM
Finally kicked back in my recliner. Hello again all!
Lizbot (host) 6:41:45 PM
Christmas content! Foreshadowing!
Lizbot (host) 6:42:52 PM
Hi Addie! Excellent! I am glad you weren't kicked by Françoise Cactus' boots and are kicking back in comfort! I hope the snakes are curled up on the recliner with you
Lizbot (host) 6:43:46 PM
@Mary Jones - Damn, yeah my last car made it over 120K but gave me a LOT of problems during our Detroit road-trip. I think that's what finally did it in
Lizbot (host) 6:45:33 PM
@Mary Jones - I assume this is the same Corolla you and Dennis drove to St. Louis and back with an incredibly short turn-around time? I drove to Michigan at a more leisurely pace. Made it to the Upper Peninsula and that lake was Too Damn Cold in August. No one those mid-westerners don't swim! Everyone was just grilling on its shores
Mary Jones 6:46:42 PM
@Lizbot We are definitely going to drive this car into the ground—we’ bought it used, have had it since 2015 or so, it’s a 2013.
Brian D 6:46:44 PM
Sparks and Mael. Sparks and Rael.
Mary Jones 6:47:05 PM
@Lizbot they don’t go swimming? Oh, I can’t understand that at all.
George Korein 6:47:08 PM
Bouncing swinging semi-ska
Lizbot (host) 6:47:41 PM
@Brian D - It's been Rael, Mael
Brian D 6:47:51 PM
I'll have the Capricious Salad. And the Sordid Pie.
Lizbot (host) 6:48:32 PM
@Mary Jones - I live for swimming down the shore in the summertime, but it was cold as hell on Mackinaw Island in the summer!
Lizbot (host) 6:48:50 PM
@George Korein - yeah, I guessssssssssssssss. DEFINITELY bouncy
Brian D 6:49:06 PM
My uncle would always say when asked by servers if he wanted dessert: "Yes. I'll have the assorted pie". Same with "I'll have the eggs any style" when asked for breakfast order.
Lizbot (host) 6:49:32 PM
@Brian D- haha, send your order on over to Chef Emeril, resident WPRB Chef. New Jersey and PA's ONLY chef
Mary Jones 6:49:38 PM
@Lizbot is still try it just to be contrary, even if it’s freezing.
George Korein 6:50:21 PM
🪩
Don Hamp 6:50:51 PM
You must play some downer Who Quadrophenia I am feeling a tad too up with this set
Lizbot (host) 6:51:50 PM
@Mary Jones - ha, yeah, that lake bottom was no sandy, pleasant Jersey shore beach! Muddy, stinky and full of fish-hooks! And no gentle slope into the water either! Instead full body shock-inducing sudden cliff edges to plunge from!
Mary Jones 6:52:28 PM
Oh yechh, maybe not then
Lizbot (host) 6:53:06 PM
Hi Don Hamp! haha, yeah I did such a moody introspective show when I subbed from 5-8 this Tuesday that I decided to do a decidedly dancier, more upbeat show today!
Brian D 6:53:47 PM
Speak n Spell!
Lizbot (host) 6:53:47 PM
@Brian D - Eggs any style - chef's choice!
Don Hamp 6:54:14 PM
damn I missed Tuesday
Lizbot (host) 6:54:35 PM
@Brian D - I love Speak and Spell [the Depeche Mode album AND the toy] but it took some convincing to get George korein, otherwise a Depeche Mode fan, to accept that album!
George Korein 6:54:48 PM
“Disco ball in the disco hall”
Brian D 6:54:56 PM
Yeah that Surprize-Bot Tuesday sub was wild. It felt a bit Thursday ish then... Oh ya. Sub. Cools
Lizbot (host) 6:55:07 PM
I am pro-Vince Clarke
Brian D 6:56:43 PM
Speak n Spell, Simon, 2XL all hang out together. This week they hung out with Judah Maccabot Jr. especially at the big part @ Jon Solomon's house last night
Lizbot (host) 6:56:46 PM
@George Korein - Disco Overhaul overheard at the Prince's ball
Lizbot (host) 6:57:16 PM
@Don Hamp - yeah, i put the word out on social media, but most ppl probably stumbled upon it if they heard it!
Brian D 6:58:11 PM
A pic of JM Jr from Jon's show chat last year...
Brian D 6:58:13 PM
https://spinitron.com/WPRB/pl/16794948/Jon-Solomon
Lizbot (host) 6:58:26 PM
@Brian D - Yeah, I am surprised i didn't accidentally call that a regular Doubleplusgood during my mic breaks. It was very Doubleplusgood-y, with many prog goodies, but usually when I sub on a different day of the week, it completely throws off my internal DJ calendar
uno clay 6:59:12 PM
I love all things Katamari down to the bottom of my heart
Lizbot (host) 7:01:02 PM
Hi Uno Clay! SUCH a creatively-designed and fun game! THE game that compelled me to buy a Playstation for the first time back when it came out. This TTC song would not be out of place in a Katamari level! The music alone was great
Lizbot (host) 7:01:57 PM
@Brian D - My son! Juddah Maccobot Jr!
Lizbot (host) 7:02:39 PM
@Don Hamp - Instead of something from [on of my teenaged years favs] Quadrophenia, I'm gonna play a VERY upbeat The Who track next!
Lizbot (host) 7:03:55 PM
LONG LIVE the ARP 2600 synthesizer!
Don Hamp 7:06:09 PM
Lizbot. LOL Still a good example of who Pete Townsend has better voice then Roger.
Lizbot (host) 7:06:40 PM
@Don Hamp - haha, true!
Lizbot (host) 7:07:43 PM
@Brian D - The Juddah Maccobot is made of mindless metal and programmed for perfection
Brian D 7:07:54 PM
Loved reading Pete's book "Who I Am" especially for the details details details on his studio recordings, keyboards, technology etc etc. Always demo-ing up creations every minute
Lizbot (host) 7:08:03 PM
@Brian D - I needs a robot sister! a certain Babybot
Brian D 7:08:42 PM
Be sure to be Dolby certain
Don Hamp 7:08:48 PM
Me too. Quadophenia was my absolute go to album for teenage angst... Of course for your listeners...their grandparents
Andy Wing 7:10:25 PM
Just tuning in. The title track "Icehouse" is a great track. Good early video, too.
Don Hamp 7:10:35 PM
@ Brian D. thanks for "Who am I" I will have to check out. He wrote a novel (I think recently?) I struggled with that
Brian D 7:11:17 PM
Ya that Icehouse on the early days before even MTV reached our county. We had little half hour video shows on the regular channels etc.
Andy Wing 7:12:14 PM
That old show "Rockworld", fond memories.
Brian D 7:12:18 PM
Ya it's "Who I Am" actually. Great read. So many things I did not know about the whole chronology of the albums and tours.
Lizbot (host) 7:12:35 PM
@Brian D - I have to read that to do justice to my Who-obsessed tween/teen years. I love the story about Pete hearing The [English] Beat's "Save It for Later" for the first time and loving it so much, he immediately had an assistant find the contact info for David Wakeling and called him up, and Wakeling could not believe it and hung up because he assumed he was being pranked. Of course Pete went on to cover that song and perform it live many times
Lizbot (host) 7:12:43 PM
Hi Andy Wing!
Andy Wing 7:12:51 PM
Hi Lizbot!
Andy Wing 7:13:18 PM
If Philip Glass were a synthpop artist it would sound like this? Wow!
Lizbot (host) 7:13:20 PM
@Brian D - ooooh, a possible theme!: DolbyPlusGood !
Brian D 7:15:16 PM
Crazy story about Pete leaving a show during the Kenny Jones era and taking the cash proceeds in a briefcase or some such. Going to a party. Up all night. Many stay awake things happened etc. Then I believe he turned that experience into "Did You Steal My Money" on Face Dances.
Lizbot (host) 7:15:57 PM
@Andy Wing - haha, yeah I think Tatsuya Yoshida of Ruins would take that as a high compliment! I have seen him live many times, including twice for that Ruins Alone album (which is just him on drums and vocals with his prerecorded synth). Normally, in regular Ruins line-ups, its him on drums and vocals but accompanied by a bassist - equally wild stuff in both iterations! I love the mania of it
Don Hamp 7:17:54 PM
Thanks for all the Who Trivia. Is it true that Pete T. is now deaf? Karma.
Lizbot (host) 7:20:08 PM
@Andy Wing - I love the glammy synth splendor of Flowers! I gotta check out that video later!
Lizbot (host) 7:21:06 PM
@Don Hamp - huh, I hadn't heard about this Pete Townshend novel... wonder if he resurrects his "Lifehouse" concept he kept returning to in various forms over the years
Lizbot (host) 7:22:27 PM
@Brian D - That PT autobiography title makes me, but it's so hard not to say it as "Who Am I" or "Who Are You". "WHo I am" is more awkward!
Lizbot (host) 7:23:09 PM
@Don Hamp - Well THAT would figure! Ears can only take SO many "loudest concerts ever"!
Andy Wing 7:24:02 PM
Nice Underworld like groove here.
Lizbot (host) 7:25:31 PM
@Andy Wing - Underworld! I remember watching their music videos in the common room TV of my old dorm!
TAndy 7:25:34 PM
└( ^ω^)」♪(┌・。・)┌(「`・ω・)「ヘ( ̄ω ̄ヘ)
Lizbot (host) 7:26:14 PM
Good Evening, TAndy!
Lizbot (host) 7:26:46 PM
@TAndy - whoa, such loafy dancing creatures ushering in the night with their frantic moves!
Lizbot (host) 7:28:23 PM
@Brian D - oh crazy. DIdn't Pete learn his lesson back in '75 when he released "How Many Friends [have i really got?!]
TAndy 7:31:15 PM
Gotta dance the night away
Andy Wing 7:32:59 PM
The "Death to Disco" rally is possibly one of the hardest things for younger people to comprehend nowadays.
Lizbot (host) 7:36:16 PM
@TAndy - Dance the Dance of a Thousand Beasts in the Land of 1000 Dances!
Andy Wing 7:36:26 PM
Is this an Echo and the Bunnymen cover?
Lizbot (host) 7:36:55 PM
@Andy Wing - It's the original
Lizbot (host) 7:37:10 PM
here comes the bomb
Lizbot (host) 7:37:23 PM
sounded more like a small firecracker
Number 6 7:38:27 PM
Somebody set us up the bomb.
Lizbot (host) 7:39:02 PM
@Andy Wing - Such a bizarre thing, that anti-disco rally! Rock musicians and fans had to feel THAT threatened by dance music?! So crazy. Speaks volumes that they were so threatened by it. Scared they were being replaced! So dumb!
Ossy 7:39:14 PM
Nice 8bit games and Charlie Wilson 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lizbot (host) 7:39:29 PM
@Ossy - Glad you enjoyed it! looooove Katamari and chip-tune!
Rob from Maryland 7:39:33 PM
When I heard that small firecracker sound, I briefly wondered if this song was an 8-bit cover of Flipper's "Sex Bomb"
Lizbot (host) 7:41:00 PM
@Rob from Maryland - haha, hmmm, now I'm considering what that might sound like...
Rob from Maryland 7:41:52 PM
It would sound interesting, that's for sure
Lizbot (host) 7:42:39 PM
@Ossy - Re: Charlie: Tulsa's finest!
Lizbot (host) 7:43:27 PM
@Rob from Maryland - someone out there will hopefully stumble upon this chat and feel inspired to make it!
Lizbot (host) 7:44:05 PM
Nothing beats full string and horn sections in dance music!
Lizbot (host) 7:44:14 PM
And I say that as a huge synth fan
Brian D 7:47:09 PM
Just heard. Philly great singer of many accomplishments Essra Mohawk RIP .Many will remember her from Schoolhouse Rock (Interjections!) but that is just a tiny bit of her big career.
Rob from Maryland 7:49:09 PM
@Lizbot, R.E.M. apparently covered "Sex Bomb"
Lizbot (host) 7:49:46 PM
Who's going to see Ween live at The Mann next September??!
Lizbot (host) 7:50:14 PM
@Rob from Maryland - Oh weird!
Brian D 7:50:39 PM
JOHNNY ON THE SPOT!
Brian D 7:51:12 PM
Glenn on keys live makes with the keyboard patch triggered EXPLOSIONS! BOOM
Lizbot (host) 7:51:20 PM
@Brian D - oh no! RIP Essra Mohawk! Maybe it play her next week, but might be doing a winter solstice theme!
Joe Moore 7:51:34 PM
Just popping in to say you rule lizbot. Thanks for a great show.
Rob from Maryland 7:51:37 PM
@Lizbot, it seems to lack intelligible vocals and a hook
Lizbot (host) 7:52:01 PM
Hi Joe Moore! Thanks so much!
Brian D 7:52:13 PM
We got our tickets for Ween Choc n Cheese 30th Anniversary show at the Mann Center next year! Fri Sept 27 2024
Joe Moore 7:52:45 PM
Yeah probably gonna get that too
Michael D. Okum 7:53:19 PM
Thanks for adding a dose of Ween Weirdness... Awesome show as usual!
Lizbot (host) 7:54:17 PM
@Brian D - Yup! Got mine, but MAN those tickets went fast! Surely scooped up by many bots. Have okay seats and my friend got some lawn seats - I'll probably picnic in the lawn with her!
Brian D 7:54:25 PM
Essra played the Franklin Mills mall about 10 years ago. Funny scene. My sis got to know her a little and we went. Former Phila area DJ Michael Tierson introduced her w some great words.
Brian D 7:54:47 PM
She was solo inside of the music store I think. Sam Ash was it?
Lizbot (host) 7:54:52 PM
@Michael D. Okum - I love The Mollusk! LBI-recorded and great after all these years! Thanks for listening!
Ted 7:55:00 PM
you played that Telex song early on but didn't mention that the guy from Telex was Ron Mael's best friend!
Mary Jones 7:55:09 PM
Popping back on to say great show, and have a good night!
Lizbot (host) 7:55:33 PM
@Brian D - oh wow, what a crazy thing to see her at the Franklin Mills Mall! Who would've guessed!
Rob from Maryland 7:55:47 PM
Brian, I was just reading about Essra. I vaguely recognize the name from the 70s but that's it. She had an interesting career
Brian D 7:55:52 PM
Ya great time as per uzhe Lizbot(tle of cheer time o year)! Onward....
Brian D 7:56:05 PM
Ya Essra played w everybody.
Number 6 7:56:35 PM
Thanks for another show of great music that I never heard before. BCNU!
Lizbot (host) 7:57:00 PM
Hi Ted! oh wow! Yeah, I played Les Rita Mitsouko earlier too, for more Mael action! Ron has excellent choice in friends!
Lizbot (host) 7:57:12 PM
@Mary Jones - Thanks! Best to you and Dennis!
Lizbot (host) 7:57:33 PM
@Mary Jones - Winter Solstice songs next Thursday on the actual solstice!
Rob from Maryland 7:57:49 PM
@Lizbot, this was a great show! Merci!
Brian D 7:57:56 PM
Sesame Street, Schoolhouse Rock, Zappa, Jerry Garcia Band, Procul Harum, John Cougar, Carole King, Kool & the Gang. Cyndi Lauper had hit w/her song Change of Heart etc etc etc
Lizbot (host) 7:58:00 PM
Thanks for hanging, Number 6!
Mary Jones 7:58:12 PM
@Lizbot I can’t wait for the Solstice show!
Lizbot (host) 7:59:00 PM
@Mary Jones - Have any related suggestions for the theme, lemme know!
Ossy 7:59:58 PM
Awesome sounds Liz Susan Bot
