Oh, gotta check that out. I am just familiar with him from lots of weird stuff from when I was a kid. I had a thing for stuff like the The Tibetan Book of the Dead produced by Wientz with the forward by Yung got to me.

Now to show my child of the 70's cred, I an a big fan of Castanada, and I was friends with a Franciscan Priest who knew him from Sherman Oaks, CA. I drove to San Antonio, TX with him and he had me stay in a room at the rectory. Surreal.

@Roffle- Carlos Castaneda was my go-to read back in the day - Yaqui Way of Knowledge- and an old friend of Recherché and WPRB, who has sadly passed on- was friends with a Jesuit priest who introduced him to Exuma - the Obeah man. Some pretty fine spirituality out there...

Yea, it was a funny ride. When they asked him to open the trunk at a border check and the patrol guard saw his frock, I could have died! The Border guard was very catholic. It was insanly funny how fast a priest can take charge. lol

Sitting around with a bunch of priests that smoke and drink and tell the filthiest jokes you can imagine. Oh yea!

Yeah, the Jesuits are a barrel of laughs as well- the "intellectual" orders are the best...

On the ride though, we did have a profound talk. Yea, I agree they are the smartest of Catholics for sure. And Catholics a big on education.

I think this piece would go well with the planetarium event Alan is doing at the Institute tonight!

Yeah, I was taught through primary school by the IHM nuns, and they taught me number theory in 8th grade- which is knowledge I used to pass the IBM tst to get a job operating mainframe computers back in the day...the holy orders had a lot of good points...

There is an occultation of Beetlejuice tonight. That makes sense! I was wondering where Alan was tonight.

Yes, I remember he mentioned it was dependent on the weather and I guess it's working out!

I did have to attend Catholic school, but my family is all over the place on religion. The nuns are weird, but they do educate.

I hope so Readie. Alan is very enthusiastic. I love his input. I hope the sky puts on a show and a half!

Some nuns we had were awful, but a llot of them beloved. Just like any group of course. And the habits they wore back in the day- hardly an inch of skin would show! How they could bear to wear that get-up in the summer- I'll never know.

I used to work with people who would be saying they can't stand people, wanted to move out to the country so they could be alone with just their families...presumably they didn't mind the couple of colleagues they confessed this to...but hey, who knows?!

I can definitely due without peoples crazy issues, but my friends make it right. I wear headphones in public for a reason for sure. Just so I can say, I didn't hear you when it counts.

It's an idiot fest out there.
