Readie Righteous (host) 5:14:26 PM
Well, yes, GH here - "youse" is the 2nd person plural of the pronoun "I", and a synonym is "y'all", primarily used in the Southern USA...
Readie Righteous (host) 5:14:50 PM
Hey TAndy! happy to see ya!
TAndy 5:14:59 PM

Readie Righteous (host) 5:32:51 PM

Alan Pasnyk 5:33:27 PM

Readie Righteous (host) 5:38:59 PM
Alan, you are in a wordsmithy mood tonight!
Alan Pasnyk 5:39:30 PM
Look at the size of that African Banjo, precursor of the American Banjo...
Alan Pasnyk 5:41:32 PM
...wordsmithy probably because last night's Heavy Metal music and chat with DJ Flex Luthor did something to my mental state..ha!
Alan Pasnyk 5:42:46 PM
I guess that Banjo/Gourd instrument plays the Bass..
Alan Pasnyk 5:43:25 PM
Nope, I see a Bass in the background..
Roffle 5:47:58 PM
I don't know what that is, but the word contraption comes to mind.
Readie Righteous (host) 5:58:02 PM
That's a Kora - 21 strings and a huge gourd
Alan Pasnyk 6:02:39 PM
More fun to tune than 2 guitars
Readie Righteous (host) 6:03:48 PM
I can't imagine- it's fun enough to tune a 12-string....

Addie 🐍 🐍 Plum 6:11:55 PM
I’ve been ready for snow since Halloween, Alan!
Readie Righteous (host) 6:12:09 PM

Readie Righteous (host) 6:12:41 PM
Addie, did you ever go snowshoeing?
Alan Pasnyk 6:12:47 PM
Good 4 ya Addie! But I got the Xmas lites up and my Lionel trains out...
Addie 🐍 🐍 Plum 6:15:36 PM

Addie 🐍 🐍 Plum 6:18:15 PM
@Readie no, not yet! I’d love to try it though. It’s certainly very popular here!

The sole one I know is her Mr Big Shot 💖🔥 especially on Patty's butter, which of course heard of her passing via her.
Readie Righteous (host) 6:24:32 PM
Hi Ossy! She lived a long life...
Readie Righteous (host) 6:24:59 PM
Her mega-hit coming next...
Ossy 6:25:42 PM

Readie Righteous (host) 6:25:58 PM
Ossy 6:26:03 PM
For real a long life like Betty White!
Readie Righteous (host) 6:26:35 PM

Ossy 6:27:05 PM
Funny also, I confuse the names of Betty White and rnb motown singer Betty Wright, lmao
Ossy 6:27:26 PM
Best known of "Tonight's The Night"
Readie Righteous (host) 6:27:38 PM
Hey Ossy - no shame in that!....
Ossy 6:28:35 PM
Oh no, because they're last names sound EXTREMELY similar! Both are star queens!
Readie Righteous (host) 6:29:01 PM

Larry Kirwan from Wexford! Old band opened up for Black 47 at John & Peter's in New Hope about 20 years ago or so.
Brian D 7:22:14 PM
Larry K has/had? a great show on satellite radio. "Celtic Crush". Eclectic mix of bands/styles/eras not just Irish. And great stories. He hosts a yearly tour of Ireland. Package deal always sounded like a great time. With a great choice of host/tour guide.
Readie Righteous (host) 7:24:39 PM
@Brian D- sounds awesome- would love to find a definitive Ireland tour....
Rob from Maryland 7:24:58 PM

Brian D 7:35:46 PM
If I Should Fall from Grace... such a great lp all the way. I love all the Shane Pogues lps tho. That one where Terry Woods from Steeley Span and others joined up w the band. Great player Terry. Guitar, mandolin, cittern, mandola etc etc.
Alan Pasnyk 7:36:30 PM
A Great Tune, NO Doubt!!
Rob from Maryland 7:36:35 PM
Fairytale is one of our favorites

Terry Woods and Phil Chevron were the only 2 members of the Pogues actually born in Ireland. Very much an Irish band but as is a common story many were born over the water as their parents sought work etc.
Readie Righteous (host) 7:41:08 PM
So true, Brian D
Brian D 7:41:14 PM
RIP Phil Chevron too
Rob from Maryland 7:42:59 PM
We're crying, Readie, with this song
Jeffry Langan 7:43:09 PM

Readie Righteous (host) 7:43:15 PM
I've got tears too, Rob
Rob from Maryland 7:43:40 PM
Any version of this song brings tears to my eyes. June Tabor was my introduction to this song
Readie Righteous (host) 7:43:44 PM
Hi Jeff- RIP Shane!
Brian D 7:44:31 PM
Read John Lydon's (Rotten's) auto bio book "Rotten: No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs" in recent years. He like Shane had the similar story of Irish parents and being born in England. John had trouble in both countries... taunted, abused either way... in either land you're the outsider etc
Readie Righteous (host) 7:45:10 PM
@Brian- Lydon's is on my much reading to do...
Rob from Maryland 7:45:36 PM
Brian D, thanks for that little bit about Lydon
Brian D 7:46:15 PM
I first heard this by Eric Bogle (Australian folk singer). Mom had a tape of And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda. Then I heard Shane and co and they really did it well. Eric had another song much more lighthearted about fans hounding him to play Dylan songs. A hoot
Readie Righteous (host) 7:47:16 PM
I heard about Eric Bogle...gotta check out his othr stuff
Rob from Maryland 7:47:57 PM
Brian, you might want to check out June Tabor's version. She also does a somber reading of Bogle's "No Man's Land"
Brian D 7:49:33 PM
Great June Tabor lps: "Silly Sisters" w/ Maddy Prior (of Steeleye Span fame). And June Tabor and the Oyster Band - "Freedom and Rain" (2 greats forces together. That one has a Shane/Pogues song "Lullabye of London". And a beautiful version of (Bonnie) Susie Clellan.
Brian D 7:51:03 PM
Another tear jerker there on ... Matilda. Coming back maimed from war on the boat and no one to greet him.
Rob from Maryland 7:51:16 PM
Brian D, I have the first Silly Sisters album, which I played to death back in the day
Rob from Maryland 7:51:29 PM
Plus I have Tabor's first two solo albums
Brian D 7:51:56 PM
Yes she's wonderful. What a tone in those cords. Like smoke and honey
Rob from Maryland 7:52:33 PM
Readie, thank you so much for all these MacGown songs! <3
Readie Righteous (host) 7:52:53 PM
My pleasure, Rob!
Alan Pasnyk 7:53:41 PM
That "And The Band...." track reminded me of what our Vietnam War veterans first faced when returning home, sung with such
Rob from Maryland 7:53:55 PM
Brian, Tabor appears on at least one Les Barker/Mrs Ackroyd Band song, singing his rewrite of a song she recorded "January Man" (morphed into "January June")
Brian D 7:54:06 PM
The new guard meets the middle guard here. Great collab.
Readie Righteous (host) 7:54:14 PM

Readie Righteous (host) 7:54:30 PM

Readie: Same here as Tandy, Thanks for the Excellent and Fitting tribute. PEACE & bcnu!
Brian D 7:57:46 PM
Spider Stacy far right. Ronnie Drew singing at left w/Shane. Barney McKenna maybe at left on the banjo
Readie Righteous (host) 7:58:36 PM
Peace! Thx everyone! Thx for your knowledge, Brian D!
Brian D 7:59:40 PM
Saw the Pogues twice in 1990s during the Spider Stacy lead vocal era (they had kicked Shane out by then). Spider filled his shoes well. Raucous times at the Trocadero. Such a great live band with or without Shane. Then saw Shane and the Popes twice. Once great once... very late but good enough. Never got to see them in the 2000s Shane Pogues reunion era
Readie Righteous (host) 8:00:32 PM
Wow, at the Troc!
