This Fela track is fantastic!

@William, hilariously the original release version of this track was under six minutes in length.

Not even the longest song on that record's side!

Government Chicken Boy needs the 20+ minutes to breathe, this is highly enjoyable

Agreed, DSM. It takes like 12 minutes before Fela's vocals even begin.

Which is not a complaint.

Now you mentioned, I notice the song plays for a while, before Fela starts to lyric, when listening to my faves "Coffin For Head State"

this organ solo is deranged, in a great way

The other track on this CD is equally excellent but about 2/3 of the way in Fela curses several times in a "would make for a lousy radio edit" fashion. C'mon, Fela!

Zelda Wind Waker, some boss battle in place called Tower of Gods played some music beats that sounded similar to Fela

The squall actually stuck in my yard. I looked away for five minutes and the ground was covered. Aesthetically pleasing!

Killing Joke first heard on WZBC in Newton MA. I immediatey bought the Requiem/Tension 7”.

The Bandcamp album description is INSANE: "The Witch on Horseback Institute for Cognitive Salubrity was a short-lived new age education center and performance space founded in Trumansburg, New York in the nineteen-seventies by former employees of the Moog synthesizer company. These forgotten recordings with disgraced Ithaca experimental psychologist Noving Jumand were discovered at a library sale in Ithaca, New York in the early 2020s, and have been restored from the original LPs."

No, no @Andrew Chalfen. I can't say my appreciation for the album is in anyway harmed by the truth/untruth of the backstory. It was just nice to think I was living in a world where former Moog employees and disgraced experimental psychologists could find each other and make really out there music.

I too think Requiem might've been the first thing I heard by Killing Joke - and you're paintings look awesome AC - is that yours all the way on the left when you click on the invite?

I was somewhat shocked to discover "Eighties" by Killing Joke doesn't appear until their fifth album.

Some of Freud's minions were indeed crackpots for sure. I still love Wilhelm Reich's stuff though. Just too weird and cool.

Randy, I used the treadmill in my mother-in-law's apartment building on Thanksgiving. It had a screen where I could do a virtual run anywhere in the country. I, a person with apparently no imagination, chose "The American Northeast."

They digitized a reel and found some surprises on it...

These names are terrific, DJ Tenderloin.

"There was still blank tape on the reel, so they decided to record an instrumental with the working title, "Addams Family" and then recorded new versions of "In My Eyes" and "Filler" to hear what they sounded like with two guitars. "Addams Family" ended up being used as a coda to "Cashing In", but the other two songs were never mixed and largely forgotten for over 35 years until the multitrack tapes were taken into the studio to be digitized in 2021."

While I was never stuffed in a locker I did figure out how to put a cassette player above the lockers and toss it down the open space so if I pressed play it would be very difficult for anyone to turn it off.

The only hardcore band in Moorestown High School (very similar to Haddonfield) wasn't jocks. They were called Hammerhead and their catchphrase was "Hammerhead wants you dead"
