Dubbed "Mallika-e-Ghazal" (Queen of Ghazals), she is regarded as one of the greatest singers of ghazal, Dadra and thumri genres of Hindustani classical music. She was born in Faizabad, U.P. and her recordings were issued as far back as 1938. She learned music from Ustad Imdad Khan (sarangi player from Patna), Ata Mohammad Khan of Patiala, and Abdul Waheed Khan of Lahore. |

| Dhananjay Daithankar & Rupak Kulkarni Madhuvanti Distinctive Duet Neelam Dhananjay Daithankar is a doctor of Ayurvedic medicine from Pune. He had an early fascination with the Santoor. But since the instrument was not easily available, he initially constructed his own. He learnt from Ratanlal Tikoo, and since 1981 from Shivkumar Sharma.
Rupak Kulkarni learned bansuri from his father, Malhar Rao Kulkarni, and Hariprasad Chaurasia. |

| G. N. Balasubramaniam Paripalaya - Panthuvarali - Adi Swati Tirunal The Glorious Music of G. N. Balasubramaniam Oriental Gudalur Narayanaswamy Balasubramaniam (6 January 1910 – 1 May 1965), popularly known as GNB, was a Carnatic vocalist. He composed over 250 krithis, most in Telugu with a few in Sanskrit and Tamil. GNB also invented new ragas. He taught a number of students during his active years. Most famous among them are M. L. Vasanthakumari, Radha-Jayalakshmi duo, Tanjore S. Kalyanaraman, Trichur V. Ramachandran, T. R. Balu, T. S. Balasubramanian, and Ragini. GNB died rather young, at age 56. |
