Good morning and welcome to a special edition of Treasures of Early Music
Rofflestomp 7:08:13 AM
Thank you and glad to be here Marvin. Good Mornings.
Marvin Rosen (host) 7:18:15 AM
Thanks to you for tuning in!!
Rofflestomp 7:20:33 AM
Hey Dr. Rosen, Have you ever played a tune twice? Not that I could tell, but you offer so much depth, I can't help but wonder.
Marvin Rosen (host) 7:24:42 AM
Thanks for your comment Rofflestomp! I do occasionally repeat pieces but try not to. It basically depends on the program. I may for example repeat a selection if I am doing a themed program or a show about a specific composer. Thanks for asking. That was a great question
Rofflestomp 7:30:29 AM
I certianly put Hovanison aside in that, knowing your love there. Thank you for what I kinda thought. Really, really love the early works you share. So thanks for stuff. Just great to enjoy in the mornings.
Patrick Blanco 7:54:14 AM
Good Morning to Marvin and his listeners
Parrscream 7:54:45 AM

That sus 4th!
Rofflestomp 8:37:00 AM
Pardon me, just playing along....]
Marvin Rosen (host) 8:37:00 AM
Some of this music is incredibly creative!! These early composers had so much talent and their music has so much heart!!
Rofflestomp 8:37:56 AM
Trying that is...
Rofflestomp 8:41:25 AM
The heart of this crazy human thing! I am just so very lucky to even know it exists!
Richard from Rocky Hill 9:33:01 AM
@ Marvin Rosen (host) Totally agree with your comment on the incredible creativity found in so much early music. (This Maione harpsicord piece helps prove your point.) I think we moderns have an unconscious prejudice that anyone who lived more than a couple centuries ago was somehow primitive compared to us. Thanks for continually and delightfully contesting that with "Treasures of Early Music."
Marvin Rosen (host) 9:42:40 AM
Thanks Richard! I am glad you understood where I was coming from. Also, music lovers have to realize that there is so much more to early music than Bach, Handel, Vivaldi and Telemann!
Rofflestomp 9:47:54 AM
If anyone has made that clear, you have done so. Gosh, the things!
Bud Burroughs 9:52:15 AM
I love the historic tuning/temperament on some of these early music recordings. Most intervals in common keys are very smooth, but some of the others are pretty "spicy."
Marvin Rosen (host) 9:53:25 AM
Thank you all so much for joining me today for this special edition of Treasures of Early Music!!! Have a great day and weekend!!
Patrick Blanco 9:53:40 AM
Thanks again Marvin .Really enjoyed the program
Marvin Rosen (host) 9:53:47 AM
Thank you also for all of your comments!
Rofflestomp 9:54:37 AM
Hi Bud, tend to agree. The were tuning up. That's just how we do it I guess..
Rofflestomp 9:55:48 AM
Thanks so much for these summer treats Marvin.
Dá Bəng Gôu 9:59:28 AM
Thanks you for the musics and your works.
