Would you say Albanian music is largely influenced by Greek music?

definitely, especially music from the towns that are bordering greece. the sounds vary by region though, northern albanian music i'd say sounds a bit more distinct, it's more folklike and they use more specialized instruments

also a lot of middle eastern influence

Yeah, I heard some of that. I’m not at all familiar with Albanian music, so this show will be an education!

I've never looked into it but he spoke nothing but positivity about the times he visited.

The music is really good too. I noticed that a lot of these Eastern European countries are super patriotic, and it reflects in their music so much that even the pop music may as well be called folk music.

that's such a good way of putting it, and it's so true. also so many of these are songs that have been sung for centuries and people just do their own spin on it
