I started following a twitter account earlier in the year that posts all of them and the frtizi ritz comics

the mid 80s-now ones aren't great but the ones from its hey dey are genius

Fritzi Ritz was one of my first boyhood crushes

it's so interesting to look at the evolution of their living situation. in fritizi ritz theyre very clearly wealthy but by the 60s with nancy they live in an absolute dump

Reminds me that the original French title for the song that was a big mid-1950s hit in the USA titled "The Poor People of Paris" is "La goualante du pauvre Jean" ("The Ballad of Poor John"). The incomparable Edith Piaf perfomed it on American TV on the popular Ed Sullivan variety show.

@ Misty (host) The singers on Ed Sullivan all performed live with their own bands or with Sullivan's studio orchestra. In fact, when The Doors appeared on Sullivan to perform their big hit "Light My Fire", he told them to modify the line "Girl we couldn't get much higher" as he didn't want a drug reference on his show. In the actual moment, Jim Morrison famously sang "higher" anyway. That was the last time The Doors were invited to play on Ed Sullivan!
