Also, if you want some speculative fiction about octopus brains, I just finished Ray Nalyer's "The Mountain in the Sea"

It's a near future world where we encounter a super-intelligent species of octopus off the coast of Vietnam. All about what it means to be considered human or on par with humanity. Very enjoyable
