Hello Hello!
DSM 5:02:44 PM
Lizbot!
Lizbot (host) 5:03:18 PM
Hi DSM!
Lizbot (host) 5:04:30 PM
This show is sandwiched between my daughter's middle school graduation last Thursday and my 20th anniversary (with my husband, not of the show...on the 21st year of the show now!)
DSM 5:04:58 PM
First shore visit, nice, I have one booked for mid July, but may sneak down prior to then if possible.
Lizbot (host) 5:05:07 PM
And in the meantime, the highway collapsed, while I was down the shore, and I got stuck in a hailstorm in Pemberton, NJ yesterday and TRAFFIC APOCALYPSE today
DSM 5:05:17 PM
Oh wow, congrats on both of those BIG things!
Lizbot (host) 5:05:33 PM
@DSM - Nice! Yeah, it was a brief but worthwhile visit
Lizbot (host) 5:05:51 PM
I saw Tina Fey & Amy Poehler with Atsuko opening in AC on Sunday night
Number 6 5:06:05 PM
I hope your daughter's graduation wasn't impacted by all of the smoke that we had last week!
Lizbot (host) 5:06:13 PM
Which was the first standup my kid has ever attended
DSM 5:06:41 PM
Action packed week for Lizbot!
Lizbot (host) 5:07:33 PM
Hello Number 6! It was! It had to be moved indoors, but it all worked out. I felt bad for the high school graduation kids because our ceremony and reception was 3 hours but there's was all-day events, including ceremonial tree-planting that had to be cancelled
DSM 5:07:42 PM
Do Amy and Tina do a show together or separate sets?
Lizbot (host) 5:11:02 PM
@DSM - Yup! This June has been nonstop events. Jam-packed! Still have The Feelies at Brooklyn Made tomorrow night, on my actual anniversary, Leopoldstadt play on Saturday and Steve Reich Sonic Sphere that afternoon at The Shed NYC, a 1970s Northern Irish play at the Irish Center called Good Vibrations based on The Undertones and other 70s northern Irish punk bands, The Crossing modern vespers choir at a farm in Bucks County, The Cure show, Sparks show, and a flight the next morning! Phew!
Lizbot (host) 5:11:58 PM
@DSM - Both! Mostly together, but then they each do a separate stand-up set, and those were great. I esp loved Tina's. Opener Atsuko was good too. She has a stand-up special on one of the streamers.
Lizbot (host) 5:12:40 PM
@DSM - Rachel Dratch also made a cameo as "Debbie Downer" in a Weekend Update sketch
Lizbot (host) 5:13:00 PM
@DSM - (They set up a Weekend Update set onstage)
DSM 5:14:17 PM
Omg I loved Debbie Downer!
DSM 5:14:56 PM
They don't make SNL like they used to
Lizbot (host) 5:15:43 PM
@DSM - It was a nice surprise. She did some new bits plus the bit about feline AIDS being the number one killer of cats, which had that nice "meow, meow" instead of "wah WAAHHH" punchline. My kid hadn't seen that stuff the first time around
Rob from Maryland 5:15:45 PM
Good afternoon everyone
Lizbot (host) 5:15:52 PM
Hi Rob from Maryland!
DSM 5:16:31 PM
Hey Rob!
Rob from Maryland 5:16:44 PM
Howdy Lizbot! You've had quite the week! Are you at the Barge right now?
Rob from Maryland 5:16:55 PM
Hi DSM!
Ossy 5:18:14 PM
Hi Space Liz Ladybot!
Lizbot (host) 5:18:18 PM
@Rob - I hung with some seabirds during my first jaunt down the shore of the season this weekend! Mostly mallards and Canadian geese, but also a nice little red winged bird my husband got a photo of
Lizbot (host) 5:18:23 PM
Hi Ossy!
Lizbot (host) 5:18:38 PM
@Ossy - This song is a little bit of a space exploration vibe I think
Parrscream 5:20:03 PM
Hey Liz! Tuning in just for a bit because tonight is my son's 8th Grade Graduation!
Number 6 5:20:41 PM
I was down the shore for Memorial Day weekend. It was kinda cool weather wise then.
Ossy 5:20:41 PM
Liz - Yeah, now you quite said it, it's Rosasolis spacey!
Lizbot (host) 5:20:47 PM
Hi Parrscream! Congrats to him and to you for getting him through the middle school!!
Ossy 5:21:19 PM
Oooo, a theme of socks in the caption!
Lizbot (host) 5:22:04 PM
@Parrscream - I hope high school is less crazy a time than middle school was for my kid!
Alexander Scott Boates 5:23:41 PM
Where is the new years party at Lizbot?
Lizbot (host) 5:24:00 PM
@Number 6 - Yeah, I'll bet it was really chilly on the beach then! It was warm enough to hang on the beach this weekend, but not swim in the ocean, though there were a few brave souls who ventured into the water briefly. It eventually got too windy to hang for as long as I'd have liked! Then I got stuck in a crazy hail storm in Pemberton coming home yesterday!
Rob from Maryland 5:24:08 PM
@Lizbot, happy kiddo graduation and happy anniversary!
Lizbot (host) 5:24:25 PM
Hi Alexander Scott Boates - hmmm, in the radio ether!
Lizbot (host) 5:24:45 PM
ahhh, steel drum ear candy
Rob from Maryland 5:24:57 PM
Lizbot, was your bird a Red-winged Blackbird maybe? https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Red-winged_Blackbird/id
Lizbot (host) 5:25:07 PM
@Ossy - Rosasolis spacey = a new genre!
Rob from Maryland 5:25:28 PM
@Parrscream, happy 8th grade graduatioin for your son
Lizbot (host) 5:25:41 PM
@Ossy - I named this while my feet were cold! They randomly turned blue on Tuesday and I had to soak them in hot water!
Number 6 5:25:47 PM
Where I was they have a heated pool, but it was also windy, so I didn't go in.
Lizbot (host) 5:27:07 PM
@Rob from Maryland - Yes! The male!
Rob from Maryland 5:27:55 PM
@Lizbot, they are nice (and loud) birds
Lizbot (host) 5:28:18 PM
@Number 6 - Yeah, I took a dip in a pool while it was very sunny and the pool was very heated, yet the wind made me too cold! I've never seen my feet turn that blue!
Lizbot (host) 5:28:50 PM
@Rob from Maryland - he was hanging in a scrubby little evergreen in LBI
Number 6 5:28:55 PM
Ohhh, blue feet not good.
Lizbot (host) 5:30:21 PM
@Number 6 - I never had circulation issues, but my mom and grandmom did. Maybe I have officially reached the age where they're gonna plague me too!
Ossy 5:31:15 PM
Wow Liz, any more of that, you would've been bluer like the Gross Sisters from the Disney animated sitcom, Proud Family lol
Lizbot (host) 5:31:37 PM
@Rob from Maryland - He was the most vocal of the birds hanging out by us. He was over by Barnegat Bat. The beach was strangely devoid of many seagulls, but I did see two pairs of pelicans over the ocean. The seagulls didn't have a lot of bathers/beach-goers to nick food from!
iamthelabhras 5:32:15 PM
What's up bot lovers.
Lizbot (host) 5:32:55 PM
Hello iamthelabhras!
Ossy 5:32:58 PM
Yeah, and that's why Rosasolis is the Space Royal Goddess Princess Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy!
Lizbot (host) 5:33:29 PM
@Ossy - not familiar with it, but I felt like the blue aliens in Fantastic Planet!
Lizbot (host) 5:33:41 PM
@Ossy - No contesting that!
Ossy 5:35:27 PM
Similarity, not familiar with Fantastic Planet, but I know a blue guy, Captain Planet and The Smurfs!

Ossy 5:36:59 PM

Lizbot (host) 5:37:44 PM
@Number 6 - He is ever lurking...lurking and twirling ever upward
Lizbot (host) 5:38:01 PM
@Ossy - Oh wow! I have to check it out!
Number 6 5:40:04 PM
@Liz- He said he was eating in there a week ago, but he is allowed. He has prob done more for the station than anyone!
Lizbot (host) 5:47:58 PM
@Number 6 - Yeah, I think any hoagies and other perishables get grandfathered in[to Mike's gullet]
paul lanctot 5:50:16 PM
great band playing at the Wonder Bar in asbury park tonight. Little Hag- they go on second. Get Real is a good song with no curse words - Brass Knuckle Keychain is great but has F-bombs
Rob from Maryland 5:51:22 PM
@Lizbot, weird about the lack of seagulls
Lizbot (host) 5:51:41 PM
Hi Paul Ianctot! Thanks for the tip! I am down in Philly, back from the shore, so no Asbury Park for me, but I'll check out those tracks!
Lizbot (host) 5:52:22 PM
@Rob from Maryland - Fewest gulls Ive ever seen down the shore! I think because of lack of ppl on the beach, but I still expected to see them hunting over the water
Lizbot (host) 5:53:04 PM
@Rob - Last summer I watched on drag a huge bag of trash out of the beach trashcan, rip it open and spread it all over the place!
Number 6 5:56:22 PM
When I first started, I played Magma, and a listener sent me a copy of one of their multi DVD sets.
paul lanctot 5:57:59 PM
@Lizbot cool- always dig your shows
Lizbot (host) 5:58:32 PM
@number 6 - nice! ahhh, you know, a listener sent me Magma DVDs to the station DJ mail a many years ago...I am trying to remember who it was...Might have been one of the guys from the prog band Dinner - Dan Burke or the other guy whose name I'm forgetting...
Lizbot (host) 5:58:45 PM
@Paul Ianctot - Thanks!
Number 6 6:00:03 PM
Might have been the same guy!
Lizbot (host) 6:00:12 PM
@Number 6 - I have those on my shelves somewhere!
Number 6 6:00:30 PM
Me too!
Lizbot (host) 6:01:03 PM
@Number 6 - Oh, I'll bet! I don't think there are a lot of listeners sending DJs burned Magma DVDs!
JimmyCarter IsMy Hero 6:07:33 PM
Wow this song! :-)
Lizbot (host) 6:10:44 PM
Hi JimmyCarter IsMy Hero! Haha! No band is quite like Shonen Knife! I love their live show energy
Rob from Maryland 6:10:45 PM
@Lizbot, that gull dragged the huge bag of trash all by itself?! Wow!
Lizbot (host) 6:11:09 PM
@Rob from Maryland - These gulls are huge and fortified by all our human additives!
Lizbot (host) 6:11:34 PM
@Rob from Maryland - One dragged one of my heavy beach bags and it didn't even have any food in it!
Rob from Maryland 6:12:21 PM
@Lizbot, Supergulls! Amazing that it went after your beach bag
Lizbot (host) 6:18:52 PM
This is such proggy fusion jam for a horror soundtrack!

Hi DTO!
Lizbot (host) 7:03:10 PM
@DTO - WAKE UP!
Lizbot (host) 7:03:22 PM
@DTO - Yesterday was Tarkus' birthday

Lizbot (host) 7:03:57 PM

Lizbot (host) 7:04:52 PM
@DTO - Self control. I cannot resist free Magma content. There was also a prog fan woman in Baltimore who sent me some Cheer-Accident live show videos circa 2009 or so...can't remember her name either
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ 7:05:42 PM

@DTO - Her tolerance for E.L.O. is e-l-LOW, but E.L.P. cannot be [in her presence]
Lizbot (host) 7:09:46 PM
@DTO - They tend to gather in clumps in New Jersey prog houses, but you gotta sprinkle some Italian prog record fairs around to attract them
Ossy 7:09:58 PM

Addie 🐍 🐍 Plum 7:21:06 PM
The Shelburne was amazing, so much more to see! I bought a membership.
Lizbot (host) 7:21:52 PM

Addie 🐍 🐍 Plum 7:22:24 PM
Snekus is up to the task! Let’s go!

How about a Chiawowwow?
Lizbot (host) 7:22:59 PM
DAMN, that reminds me! The ideal anniversary present for my husband...but it sadly got away from...was a homemade Tarkus sculpture made from old bolts and whatnot! I still think about that thing and I saw it years ago. Need a gift from our 20th anniversary...TOMORROW

Addie 🐍 🐍 Plum 7:25:18 PM
