For the longest time at one job, my department's hours were 7:30 to 4:00. I didn't mind at all. I loved going to the grocery store before everybody else arrived.

Agreed Rob! I'd start work at 6 am if it meant I could be done by 2:30.

I'm all for working until 4 or 5, but late Friday meetings that aren't an emergency = plain rude

@Parrscream, we had one person who drove from Laurel MD (sorta 1/2way to Baltimore from DC) to downtown Bethesda (inside the Beltway and north of DC) and she *had* to leave her house at like 6 am for her trip to be just a half hour. Otherwise it would take her forever to get to the office.

that sounds horrid. If I can't bike it, I don't want it.

i revisited this album recently - even better than i remembered!

@Parrscream & Jen, if my coworker left her house even 5 minutes late her inbound trip could balloon to 45+ minutes. Plus she'd leave the office late enough in the afternoon that she could face an hour p.m. commute. So, leave home 6 a.m. arrive home 3:30 p.m.+ or leave home 6:15 a.m. and arrive home as late as 5.pm.

Jen, I don't know this album. I'm stuck in the 80s and 90s too much it seems. The song was quite nice, thank you for playing it.

it's really great! Also Take Fountain, which blew my mind when I saw them a bunch of years ago -- I had never heard Interstate 5 and almost passed out.

Hey Redlight-Runners!!! I love this 'Centipede Venom' song! Do the vocals sound like a young John Cale to anyone else? The vocals might have been played backwards for effect, but that just underscores their intrinsic Welshy-ness... Or?

On vacation in the Virgin Islands several decades ago, I learned that centipede venom in your eyes causes blindness only temporarily, and that it has the painkilling properties of iodine if you put it on a sore tooth.

Actually, in my basement office a few years ago, there were two rather large centipedes. Knowing that they have venom, I killed them immediately!
