In '98 a friend and I saw the Arkestra at a community center around 42nd and Lancaster. Marshall invited a couple of friends, amateurs, to join him for a track or two. One was my friend's nextdoor neighbor. She played trombone. They were very surprised to see each other.

David Thomas is making a rare US appearance on the 19th in NYC, with Wayne Kramer, Tony Maimone, and Allen Ravenstein. Also with Faust, believe it or not.

Fairly recent Faust shows have them playing a bunch of there 70's classics.

When you mention Blackpool, I'm reminded of Alec Guinness in The Horse's Mouth impersonating the Duchess of Blackpool on a phone call to the man who has his paintings. I'm guessing you know that film.
