Good morning Marvin, thanks for playing this Icelandic piece...we just got back from visiting there! Beautiful place and this piece is reflective of its grandeur.
Marvin Rosen (host) 9:33:40 AM
Glad to hear you had a great trip! This piece was written just last year!
Stephen Higgins 9:35:41 AM
Beautiful piece. It certainly captures the feel of much of the country. Austere, powerful, unpredictable, and wild!
Richard from Rocky Hill 9:52:35 AM
@ Stephen Higgins Yes, indeed! It's also worth mentioning that the Icelandic sagas are ranked among the world's great literature. And, as with Greek epic poetry, they were likely sung in public performance. Anna Thorsvaldsdottir's compositions come from rich artistic traditions. Thanks, Marvin, for playing "Anchora."

Thank you for joining me today! I will be back tomorrow for Treasures of Early Music!
