Guardian Singles track had a little high pitched part similar to Bowie "I'm Afraid of Americans".

The Guardian Singles record is terrific. Not all of it is as Burma (but one of the other really Burma songs I didn't have time to make a clean edit of).

If you were to use bed music I imagine the Tuluum Shimmering covers could work nicely

Didn't get a chance to catch New Pornographers this time round, but have caught them live twice before. I also unfortunately missed Facs this past Sunday in Toronto.

For more African guitar and bowed instrument greatness the "new" archival release "Ahl Nana - L'Orchestre National Mauritanien" from Radio Martiko is just wonderful. Anything by that family, collective, similarly/confusingly named and or translated group is wonderful.

That's a great idea. I think I was initially going in the direction of "a short endless loop" but I'm open to ideas.
