While I was in the area, I made a pilgrimage to DeLorenzo's Tomato Pies in Yardley, and it was indeed as good as I remember it being back in the Trenton location [redacted] years ago

DeLorenzo's is legit! Conte's is pretty decent as well

I unexpectedly ended up at the same De Lo location last night Dan.

I saw your Insta post. Wearing a pizza shirt to a pizza place was a bold move

Was supposed to be having pizza in West Windsor but all four of us found ourselves on the PA side of the Delaware so the plan was adjusted accordingly!

@Jon Very good, top crust is soft and fluffy, but bottom is very crispy. They use good cheese imo. The sausage slice and their wings are worth it

@Dan I'll still always be confused how there was DeLorenzos and De Lorenzo's, two completely different spots.

The old location of the Yardley place is a Mexican food spot now. Decent food on the cheap, I go there sometimes.

Yep. The Yardley place that used to be in E. Trenton is like a thin crust regular pizza and the other place now in Robbinsville, formerly the 'burg, is a tomato pie place similar to Papa's.

@Jon - Did you get to start playing Survivor with your daughter on Thurs?

@Parr, we did. Got off the tutorial planet and are exploring a giant world presently (well, not presently presently because of work + school).

Corleone's on S. Olden across from St. Mary's cemetery is still my #1 spot in the area, though. Nino's Pizzarama on Chambers is also extremely good old-school pizza

Definitely recommend taking a field trip to Yardley for the real tomato pie, Abe! when I was an undergrad, I remember going to the old DeLorenzo's with WPRB folks regularly enough. I could never find the place on my own, though

@Jon - That's awesome! Gld you got to start it on May the 4th....Ha ha... understood.... I am "presently" on my way to Dathomir in Fallen Order... That boss on Kashyyk was TOUGH!

I e still gotta try Papa's... Want that mustard pizza. Gonna have to give that other place with the spinning ovens a second chance too.

@Parr, we went to Dathomir first and found it way way way too hard so you're taking a much better route.

De Lorenzo's Tomato Pies (Robbinsville for me) is the best

I just saw the most vividly blue bluebird that I've seen in a while in my back yard

Now for an Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere hot take: I'm incredibly impressed with their commitment to single-note guitar solos. I think there's at least one in every song

Also, Cowgirl in the Sand is the song that was always on classic rock radio when I was a kid. I firmly believe Down By the River is the objectively better loping Crazy Horse jam

Back in 80s-90s the Philly fm classic rock stations played both Cowgirl in the Sand and Down by the River. About even. Maybe "...River" got more plays than "Cowgirl.. " Love them both for the Horse long form Danny Whitten era songs

And.. as I started posting that.. the surprise pizza fairy just rang my doorbell and delivered a Brooklyn style! Wow... ! Not De Lo's tho. It's from Dominick's Orig loc in my Pa town which is a NJ OG pizza joint as well.

Love the distinctive crispiness of a central NJ tomato pie, though. Nowhere else does it quite like that

My wife and her mom rule! Surprise pizza delivery yeah!
