I just saw my goat friends last night down on Stone Bridge Road. They all love WPRB (and spruce tips... and onion grass)

eastern europeans love some onions + potatoes

+ sour cream + paprika

Super friendly lot them. And the small/ medium size horses said hello too. But they were really busy locked in that yin yang hug/ mutual bug biting caretaking thing they do. So lovely to see them help each other out like that

Goats will eat any green plant it seems. But i think the spruce pieces must be like mint candy to them

@ Hanna (host) Yess'r! Those awesome Parno Graszt tracks with their crisp upbeat rhythms and 3-part harmonies sounded very bluegrass-y to me. Just needed some syncopated banjo picking! No wonder bluegrass is popular in Hungary and in the nearby Czech Republic. Thanks for the plays,

It is a private res farm but you can easily walk right to the fence and hang w the critters. Park on Tinsman Dr maybe. Or there's a pull of gravel spot down by the pond across from the water co entrance

there is a great hungarian band i'll play closer to 9.30. they've been learning at East Tennessee State Univ. bluegrass program - to spice up their musical knowledge

Am SO excited to hear that, hanna! When I was at Temple, my friend and I would play bluegrass around campus and some of my favorite memories are spontaneous jams with people and instruments from all around the world

And yes mudfroot will be playing at the Perkasie farmers market 7/22, 8/12, and 9/9 from 9-12, and the Perkasie Fall fest 12-4. Plus probably some more things; we're wrapping up recording our EP of hyperlocal food songs

@ Hanna (host) Yes, East Tennessee State University has the program in bluegrass, old-timey and roots music at any 4-year college/university, founded a way on back in 1982. And it continues to win high praise for its excellence. That Hungarian band is learnin' right! Looking forward to their track later.

Actually just realizing - the bluegrass band I play in has actually been trying some Slovakian music, which is like a reverse of this situation!

@ Hanna (host) Kaptza has some serious chops! Great stuff! I'm sure their Nashville recording will be a big success. I'm especially enjoying the hammered dulcimer, it's an instrument that's been used in American bluegrass & old-timey bands with great success.

Ya that thing that sounds like a hammer dulcimer is a cymbalom (that area of the world's take on a hammer dulcimer... big ol desk like dulcimer or sometimes round and strapped on chest etc) : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cimbalom

yep there's a czech guy in washington DC who makes his own dulcimers that can be walked around with
