Mike Compton did some great work on O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack. Always loved seeing him with The Nashville Bluegrass band at the festivals. Great picker. David Grier great picker too. Did instructional books/vids I think too.. saw his name in the Flatpickin' magazines.

Bought that soundtrack before I saw the movie. Both are nifty!

Good concert video "Down From the Mountain" with most of the soundtrack artists from O Brother recreating the songs. Late John Hartford on there doing MC. All star concert.

I've been a big fan of Jerry Douglas and the iterations of Union Station for a very long time.

When Allison got Jerry in the band ya that really made things happen. 2 Union Station members played my friend Peter's bluegrass series last year right down the road: Dan Tyminski (aka Clooney's voice in O Brother) and Jerry Douglas. 2 separate shows... missed Jerry due to rain/family visits... Dan T was so good

Wow, I would stand is a bit of rain for that, but family trumps a lot of stuff for sure.

Seeing Ralph Stanley every year at the festivals was always a treat. Career really got a jolt in the arm in his last couple decades thanks to O Brother (O Death a capella was always a highlight of his sets).
