Great music this morning. I sure do miss "Blues Off The Record" with Sonny Boy Williamson IIIrd, but that last set of the-real-stuff-blues sure helps. Thanks!

I assume this was remastered to increase the channel separation (as was the Velvet's original intent)? Many TT cartridges of that day had poor specs.
Lee Chandler 11:42:10 AM
In the past few years, I've had the joy (and puzzlement) of introducing VU to people really getting into music - from ages 17-75. Often, they already know a few things, but not VU. I find it interesting.
Brian D 11:42:17 AM
Wonder if they used a casaba melon like Hitchcock for that head stab sound
David Shortell 11:43:20 AM
A cantaloupe, I read.
Brian D 11:46:21 AM
Heh we had some chat discussions over last couple years about VU "The Gift" channel separation... some 20 years ago or so the station had a stereo channel drop out and one could only hear the music (no Cale). And it happened again in the past year or 2. Station had some connection trouble w a turntable. Heard some fun" karaoke" versions of songs heh
Andy Wing 11:49:53 AM
Some tracks have very interesting stories to tell!
Brian D 11:49:58 AM
For Psycho, the crew laid out an assortment of 3 or 4 diff melons for Alfred H to choose from (including casaba, cantaloupe and prob. watermelon, honeydew etc) . He looked away and listened to them stab each one. Alfred thought and replied in that legendary voice, "Casaba"
Andy Wing 11:52:33 AM
OK, now I'm having a flashback to the ST episode "The Apple" where the native leader smashes a melon as an example of how to fight. Wonder if Roddenberry was poking Hitchcock with that scene?
Brian D 11:55:44 AM
Sounds like a connection!
