Jon Hassell (March 22, 1937 – June 26, 2021) was an American trumpet player and composer. He was best known for developing the concept of "Fourth World" music, which describes a "unified primitive/futurist sound" combining elements of various world ethnic traditions with modern electronic techniques. Psychogeography (subtitled 'Zones Of Feeling') is a situationist re-thinking of the 1990 City: Works Of Fiction album, a carefully edited sequence of alternate takes, demos and studio jams put together by Jon Hassell in 2014. He was the drummer for Derek and the Dominos, on the Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds", George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass", Steely Dan's "Pretzel Logic", and part of Frank Zappa's 20-piece 'Grand Wazoo' big band.

Robin Lumley, keyboardist for Brand X, died on March 9th (age 74). He was born in Scotland in 1948. He moved to London and took odd jobs while trying to start a music career. He got a call from former neighbor David Bowie asking him to fill in for Bowie’s ill keyboard player. He met Jack Lancaster (multi-instrumentalist and producer) and started doing session work, where he met Phil Collins, and started the fusion group Brand X.

One Shot is one of the leading bands of contemporary Zeuhl fusion since the late 1990s. Three of its four members all met as members of Magma circa 1996. Lead guitarist James Mac Gaw died in 2021, but One Shot reformed without a guitar player, but with Emmanuel Borghi and Bruno Ruder on keyboards.
