Brian D 12:11:29 PM
Trade off... Randy Bachman sings lead on "Ain't Seen Nothin Yet" and "Taking Care o bizz..." He has a more nasal deliv. CF Turner sings on "Roll on down highway" or whatever that's called... more gruff almost southern rock ish 70s voice (despite being from Canada ya)
-ᎷяMΔᏞᏨØИᎢΞNᎢ-💀 12:11:32 PM
Perfect
Brian D 12:12:45 PM
Let it Ride... i think that one is mostly Turner lead vox too
Wilbo (host) 12:16:44 PM
Were going for Hey You, so it's Randy
Brian D 12:17:21 PM
Love that old school ahh-ooo-gah car horn there
Brian D 12:19:21 PM
They do have a certain stamp on the 1970s and vice versa that BTO. Always saw the dusty lps at the flea market in the bins back in the 1980s
Brian D 12:20:42 PM
O yeah this one. A mash of several of their other songs. If it works...
Mike Lupica 12:23:29 PM
Woof.
jimboo 12:23:43 PM

Don't forget Baily and Baja Marimba
jimboo 12:25:12 PM
Saw both live about the same time...BTO in a bowling alley venue and Bad Brains in a fellowship hall on a stage made of folding tables.
Mike Lupica 12:25:46 PM
I'm sure that ended well.
Mike Lupica 12:26:14 PM
Re-Egg-Nee-Shun. Love the HR school of pronunciation.
jimboo 12:26:46 PM
It was sketchy...they almost did not play because of that bootleg stage, but it survived some acrobatics.
Wilbo (host) 12:27:45 PM
If Bad Brains did a cover of Happy Together, it would start,"Imagine I and I, and I and I"...
Mike Lupica 12:28:25 PM
It is only within the last 15 or so years that I've realized that the true genius of "I Against I" isn't this song or the ripping title track, but rather the nowhereland prog metal songs that never appeared on anyone's skate-jam mixtapes. "She's Calling You", "Hired Gun", "Return to Heaven", etc.
Mike Lupica 12:28:36 PM
LOL Wilbo.
Mike Lupica 12:30:47 PM
Jimbo, that sounds way better than what I got the one time I saw them, which was the I Against I tour. Totally out of gas.

Roommate grabbed that one Baja Marimba Band lp from the discount bins or flea mkt etc back in the 90s. I remember it had Georgy Girl on it
Wilbo (host) 12:51:36 PM
Getting behind here, as usual. Jimboo, where was that filmed? I never saw it 'cause I never had MTV when it was a thing

Gato Barbieri! I met Gato once when he performed at the old Main Point in Bryn Mawr. After the set he shook my hand and held onto it as he engaged me in a little conversation. Always remember that nice moment. 🎷

Bay City Rollers!

Bay City Rollers! I knew you wouldn't ley me down, Wilbo.
David Shortell 1:41:44 PM
I never got to see Beat Happening, but I did see Calvin Johnson put on a strange show at the Woman's Club of Manasquan over 20 years ago.

Then maybe you'll forgive this one Chesky!

Beausoleil!
Brian D 1:51:59 PM
Always a lively fun loose show from them at the Philly Jambalaya Jam or Philly Folk Fest. Saw them many times
Rofflestomp 1:55:36 PM
That music always brings back that scene from the movie "Southern Comfort" for me.
Brian D 1:56:25 PM
Jeff!
Brian D 1:59:24 PM
I saw that family band from Southern Comfort Cajun scenes perform when I was about 12-13. Dewey Balfa and family at some small Cajun fest in southern middle o Pa near Maryland border. Then later his daughter and others in the band Balfa Toujours at the various fests. Honoring dad & their traditions. Great stuff. Real deal
Brian D 2:00:21 PM
And... his/ their last name begins w "B" !
Rofflestomp 2:04:07 PM
Always sounds like a party too. What's not love?
Brian D 2:04:37 PM
Ya the Beatles doing their take on concrète razor tape thing... I loved hearing that Rev 9 in headphones when I finally discovered it.
Brian D 2:08:15 PM
Filed under "Bah-bah-dah-bah-dah-bah-dah". Swingles ! I love that bah bah vocal Bach. You can play that anytime
Brian D 2:15:52 PM
Captain!
Dan Ruccia 2:16:15 PM
Strangely subdued for the good captain
Brian D 2:18:28 PM
No it's good ol bass guitar on this i see
Brian D 2:19:19 PM
Tepper and Lucas guitar combo was magic indeed
Rofflestomp 2:20:18 PM
And still somehow like a plastic horned devil.
Brian D 2:21:35 PM
I like how Captain's multi tracked saxes sound like bagpipes.

BENNETT ❤️ & BILL❣️ Beautiful‼️
Brian D 2:37:13 PM
Great personnel on this Benson lp. The one where he covers So What.
Brian D 2:38:27 PM
A bit Gabor like in his tone. Not the usual thick, choked tone knob jazz guitar tone
Guel0 2:38:52 PM
loving this
Bud Burroughs 2:39:34 PM
This is ear-catching! Trying to figure out if he's using some sort of non-equal-tempered guitar, or just doing that by judicious string-bending...
Brian D 2:42:16 PM
Liked that Benson guesting track on the Gorillaz lp few years back
Chesky Bevo 2:49:11 PM
It's getting late. I don't think that we are going to make it to the "Bl"s. Too bad.
Wilbo (host) 2:51:32 PM
I know. Last track, this. The next row was Chuck Berry Dickie Betts The Bhundu Boys, Big Dipper and Birdsongs of The Mesozoic...
Brian D 2:59:04 PM
Great show Wilbo!
Wilbo (host) 3:01:03 PM
Thanks all, Really!
