Looks like we're not out of the woods yet.

I got to see Cub a few times at places like Brownies, CBGB and I think Wetlands. The last time I attempted to see them was in 1996 at Maxwell’s. After performances by Pansy Division and the Smugglers, they took the stage–but then the kitchen caught fire and the venue was evacuated. I saw two of them not long after in the band Buck.

It amazes me that Cub got Dan DeCarlo to draw the “Betti Cola” jacket. That was years before Archie Comics fired him during the copyright lawsuit over Josie McCoy and the Pussycats.

Good song by Red Allen earlier. If I wasn’t at home listening to this program, I’d be at the Bluegrass and Oldtime Music Association’s monthly Sunday stage show in the Embury United Methodist Church (49 Church St, Little Silver, NJ).
