As of Monday night January 23-24 the comet is near Iota Draconis, some 25° up in the northeast by about midnight and highest in a dark sky before the first light of dawn (which means go out at least 2 hours before sunrise to leave some observing time after you get set up). The Moon is out of the picture.

@TAndy, I won't be around as far as I can tell for the cold universe theory to pan out, but digital is here to stay for a while.

The comet is traveling north, and by January 26th it's nicely up from 9 p.m. until dawn as it reaches the Little Dipper. It will pass Kochab on the North American night of the 27th and Polaris on the 29th and 30th, but by then moonlight will pose growing interference in the evening, with the waxing Moon setting later and later in the night.

I can see it, being cool. But please be kind rewind or flip just can't beat the ease of a CD or thumb drive or USB or Bluethooth. I Remeber my friend cutting and actually splicing cassettes for my listening pleasure upon a time. Bless him and the gift that that was.

He even had a four tracking cassette recorder. It was a thing.

ESCM is such a good album, Flaming June is the best song. So many remixes, but my favorite one is "Frozen February (Flake Mix)" by 3 Fingers.

It's its own release but it samples Flaming June so heavily that it may as well just be a remix.

My advice to anyone. If you know a cool Asian girl or guy, get them to take you to Chinatown and buy super cool spices. You will not be disappointed.
