0:07 The New Groove: The Blue Note Remix Project is quite interesting

Blow by Blow was the one that did it for me. Then Wired. Did not know about them until the mid 80s. Knew he was a Yardbird of course but did not learn the exact era and songs he played on until years later. Then that made a lot of sense knowing his sense of sound and "flavor" he put in to that band.

Cool short lived era is when Beck and Page had the twin lead guitar thing going on in three Yardbirds. Shame it was not documented more. Jimmy got to put down the bass and shine on his main instrument

Brian D, in 1967 I went to the movies at 8th and Chesnut and saw Blowup which had a scene with the Yardbirds and both guitarists. I imagine you are familiar, but anyone who is not I posted it at the Serenade website

Happenings Ten Years Time Ago is the great example of Beck and Page dual lead guitar (not duel heh)

There is a great early 70s live recording of Led Zep where Page and Plant are doing their call & response, Jimmy plays blues licks, Robert scats them back etc. They do the usual build up that they were doing back then, get to the climactic part... it's a little more complex then.. . Page plays the Over Under Sideways Down riff... Plant laughs so hard! Great fun moment!

I had to buy Truth if for no other reason....Beck's Bolero

He had a tendency to go into hermit mode for a bit he did... woodshed, work on his cars, then come back with a whole new bag of tricks and fresh sounds

Becks Bolero has an incredible story and personnel but I don't know it well enough to talk about it

AM did have its smattering of psychedelic songs....Bubble Puppy, Frijid Pink and Strawberry Alarm Clock

Yeah my guitar teacher back when turned me onto Truth. And the others mentioned (Blow by Blow, Wired etc). So glad he did

Beck did a playboy interview back in the day that was just way cooler than the pictures. That is when I started to appreciate his musical position. Just a smart guy.

Reminds me... DJ #6 had a Joe Frank (radio monologue / radio play great) tribute the other day where the background music of Joe's programs was featured. Although not played on his recent tribute, Joe F used 1 of the eerie instrumentals from Blow by Blow very well. The really keyboard dominated one....
