The population as of 2020 is still around 5000. There is still a mental health institute there. Besides that, I suspect much of the rest of the story is fantasy.

The CD cover is a ceremonial burning of his old leather jacket.

Impressive and delirious, the trio combines raw madness and virtuosity. And they're needlessly vulgar; this track required many edits to allow airplay. The record's title (I think) is something like "in the ass", symbolized on its cover.

Rabbit holed many of Rick Beato's YT videos years back (music theory, discussion, dissection etc). The "Film Scoring 101" series had some really interesting info on the dense layered "poly chords" of sorts and the use of scales like the augmented scale, and diff modes to create tension, diff moods in film scores . Cool stuff.

Dewa Alit's ensemble is just incredible. Expanding the scale really opens up the gamelan to new possibilities.
