Lou Reed Walk on the Wild Side
Transformer RCA/Legacy 1972

In 1970, Lou Reed left the Velvet Underground during the recording of "Loaded". "Transformer" was his solo debut. "Walk On The Wild Side" is a countercultural anthem, Lou Reed's biggest hit and his signature song. Surprisingly, it got wide radio airplay, despite dealing with subjects considered taboo at the time, including transgender people, drugs, male prostitution, and oral sex. The song's risqué lyrics refer to real people he met at Andy Warhol's New York studio. Wikipedia

ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 9:37:32 AM
RPI was just starting to explode in 1972. 1973 was even more prolific. There was such market saturation of good RPI, that most of the bands, even good ones, couldn't compete.

Hopefully not a choir singing words like "Incomprehensible;" that was a bit cult-like and creepy.

Two bass tracks. Electric and acoustic. Both played so well by Herbie Flowers. Seek out the Classic Albums docu episode on this lp. Herbie recreates his parts live
