Heard that joke in several different forms while in Ireland I felt the need to share

A friend who was in a tiny independent band in the early 1990s had a great story where he was at a bar and realized Bono was quietly drinking in the corner. Someone went up to my friend excited and he was sure it was going to be b/c they also recognized Bono but in fact they were a fan of his own small, very unknown group.

My girlfriend's mom met Bono in a bar in Ireland (guess it's common?) and she called him Bone-o the whole time (like sonny bono) but said he was very nice and never corrected her lol

Would have checked today but a person was boxing out around the discs like they were waiting for a rebound when I was a the library.

I did engineer this one, yes. Can't remember much about the set-up but I'd suspect the electronics were run direct?

Probably DI for the vox,guitar and bass, and room mic for drums? My band played CBs a bunch of times and that always seemed to work well

I'd guess vox / guitar / bass mic'd and keyboard / drum machine DI. That is how I would have done it at least.

But if a DI was missing or something else was not quite right could have mic'd everything.

I like the inputs. A straight mic might not have kept up. This is just gorgeous though.

I like to mic things for room sound and so it is easier for all present to hear beyond pushing to headphone mix. Miss recording bands at WPRB very much!
