Jade Warrior Borne On The Solar Wind
Last Autumn's Dream Vertigo 1972

Jade Warrior were formed in the UK in 1970. They were categorized as a psychedelic space rock group, but their music is hard to describe, incorporating many elements. Their mostly instrumental compositions had lush chords, and often had a wide dynamic range, from delicate hand bells to sudden loud crunches. "Last Autumn's Dream" is their third release, and hints at the direction they would go in their prime period on Island Records (1974-1978).

Brian D 8:20:10 AM
There's that durned 8 track again ha
Brian D 8:22:03 AM
The Guaraldi camp is really putting out the mega sets these days. That recent Black Orpheus set is wonderful
Mike Tropiano 8:25:18 AM
I tuned in (in my car) as America was winding down, then heard Thick as a Brick began and thought I was listening to WMMR in a time warp back to 1972 (or had been transported 50 light years away).
Calling Dr. Mok 8:25:32 AM
You should be Dave the not so obscure today
Mike Tropiano 8:25:34 AM
Our Obscurantist host is hitting the mark!

@Mike, that link leads to ELO.

ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:49:34 AM
I always thought the rhythm here was a secret message in Morse Code.

Mike Tropiano 8:54:05 AM
A couple years ago, a student played me a solo performance by Dave Matthew's performance (couldn't say I was a fan at the time), Toward he finish, there was a little passage that cuased me to say to him, "I know this bit but can't place it, reminds me of Peter Gabriel though." He laughed and said I was close. A memorable experience with a memorable student.
Mike Tropiano 8:54:24 AM
Dave Matthew's guitarist.
Mike Tropiano 8:54:31 AM
Class begins.
Brian D 8:54:43 AM
Guitar player left the band later... guess he just couldn't.. Ha--- (ducks the tomatoes and tormatoes thrown here)
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:55:25 AM

Brian D 8:56:46 AM
This is a great headphones lp yeah. Love this one all the way through.

Christine 𓅓 9:29:24 AM
Watery Zeuhl gruel?
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 9:29:44 AM
For those with delicate constitutions.
TAndy 9:29:57 AM
This Zeuhl is skimmed!
Christine 𓅓 9:30:16 AM
Easier on baby's stomach
jimboo 9:30:42 AM
Please, Sir, do not thin down our meager zeuhl gruel! I can barely stand up for want of spiritual nourishment.
DSM 9:31:03 AM
On a 90+ degree day I just can't stomach full fat Zeuhl, that's when I reach for Univeria Zekt!
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 9:31:31 AM
I know, but this was their only release from 1972. This was still the early days of Magma, when their vision was still forming.
TAndy 9:34:02 AM
#1 track of the show right here
Christine 𓅓 9:34:02 AM
"Sudden Loud Crunches" could be a WPRB show title.
Christine 𓅓 9:35:45 AM
Btw, the Jade Warrior track was gorgeous.
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 9:36:51 AM
Jade Warrior has so much gorgeous music. They're hard to program into the show, though. Because of the long quiet parts and sudden crashes.
DSM 9:38:02 AM

So much great '72 today! I was alive but a bit too young to know what good music was.
