Richard from Rocky Hill 12:11:12 PM
@ Dan Ruccia (host) Yessir! Get past the stereotype of hard rock "hair bands" and the 1980s really brought it as a monumental music decade. Question: Do all requests needs must be 1982 releases?
More Fool Mok 12:11:58 PM
I think stitching Pink's birthday was a few days ago
Dan Ruccia (host) 12:12:01 PM
@Richard: Sadly no requests today. The show is already recorded (and I'm sitting in a work meeting...yay)
Richard from Rocky Hill 12:12:16 PM

Richard from Rocky Hill 12:14:07 PM
@ Dan Ruccia (host) Whew ...! I'm actually relieved at the no-request Octopus. I've got soooo much to do that I shouldn't be researching 1982 pop music releases. Okay, back to my work as well ...

Yar! It's me revenge matey!
Brian 'D' For Donor 12:28:27 PM
Neil! Reading his bio Shakey shed light on this lp and how the electro voice was related to his non vocal son. Lots of very heavy details about that period of his life
Brian 'D' For Donor 12:29:32 PM
Related to communication with his son that is. A way of presenting that musically with the tech of that era....
Dan Ruccia (host) 12:31:18 PM
That's really interesting. It sounds like the story behind Trans has so many different layers
Dan Ruccia (host) 12:32:17 PM

Going back several songs but at the DEVO convention I saw a Chilean DEVO cover band cover “Time Out For Fun” in a tonally perfect way except for the accented English. It was great. I also partied with them in a motel room, it was their first time in America.

The Gun Club's version of "John Hardy" is a hoot! It's a traditional Southern folk ballad that's very popular among bluegrassers, both as a vocal song and in instrumental versions of the melody. I never heard the Gun Club's treatment before.
