David Hykes (born on 2 March 1953 in New Mexico) was one of the earliest modern western pioneers of overtone singing. After early research and trips studying Mongolian, Tibetan, and Middle Eastern singing forms, Hykes founded the Harmonic Choir in 1975.

VOX is an ensemble led by Vladimir Ivanoff that presents modernized arrangements of early music. This CD was originally released as "X Chants (From The Christian Arab Tradition)", and features guest vocalist Fadia El-Hage, from Lebanon.

Gryphon is a UK progressive rock ensemble formed in 1972 by graduates of the Royal College of Music of London. that mixed traditional English folk music with medieval and Renaissance influences. They made music that might persuade a progressive archdeacon to discreetly tap his toes under his desk.

Twins Jean Luc Payssan (guitars, lute) & Thierry Payssan (keyboards) founded progressive rock group Minimum Vital in the early 1980's. The group has always had medieval elements, but the brothers explore that deeper on this side project.

Jazz double bassist and composer, born 22 January 1940 in Stuttgart, Germany. As a bass player, he is known for his highly distinctive tone and phrasing. Weber's compositions blend chamber jazz, European classical music, minimalism and ambient music, typifying the "ECM sound".

Gary Burton (born on 23 January 1943, Anderson, Indiana) is a self-taught jazz vibraphonist and composer. Burton is credited with developing an innovating playing style: a four-mallet chording as an alternative to the usual two-mallets.

Mark Isham (b. 7 September 1951, in New York) is a trumpeter, synthesist and composer. He works in a variety of genres, including jazz, electronic and film music. Isham studied classical music, but also became interested in jazz, rock, and pop music.
