Originally from San Fransisco, they are now based in Baltimore, Maryland, Daniel received a Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Berkeley. Hiromi Uehara (上原ひろみ) is a Japanese jazz composer and pianist, blending musical genres such as jazz, progressive rock, classical and fusion. After being a jingle writer for a few years for Japanese companies such as Nissan, she enrolled to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she was mentored by Ahmad Jamal.

French jazz musician (violin and keyboards) and composer, born was born into a family of classical musicians in 1942. At the urging of Frank Zappa who wanted him to join their tour, Ponty emigrated with his wife and two young daughters to the United States, settling in Los Angeles.
