How was Porchfest Christine? I’d planned on going, but other things got in the way.

Love crackles. ✨️

It was my first Collingswood PorchFest, and I loved the community energy and goodwill. I biked from porch to porch with my friend and her son, met some interesting people, and was impressed by everyone's hospitality. Oh, and the music was varied and spirited!

The after-party with Candy Volcano performing was the highlight for me. They really put on one hell of a show! I still can't figure out how the 12+ members of Candy Volcano fit on the porch. Overall, a fantastic day for people of all ages. The kids I saw were having a banner day. Oh, and people were riding bikes everywhere. So many bikes! I loved that part of it.

There were tacos at the after-party too. 🌮 💘

That sounds awesome! Def gonna have to get to it next year. Lambertville is having one in October, that’ll hopefully be my ‘make up’.

I didn't know about Lambertville PorchFest, thanks DSM. The Princeton PorchFest was also a great day earlier this summer. Candy Volcano is a 1970s glam-rock band with a lot of fun and camp. Last night they played a set of mostly Bowie songs, with one Iggy Pop & the Stooges song and one Wings song. One of their strengths is their deep bench of vocalists, who trade off singing lead for particular songs. Pretty much every one of the musicians doubles on vocals.

This is a hell of an atmosphere 💙
