Hey Esoterica! Got my first tattoo from Rich so many years ago when he had the shop up near Spruce Run. Had no idea he made music!
David Shortell 3:30:51 PM
Yes, the Ergs are playing the Friday pre-show rather than Frantic City proper on Saturday.

I thought this was a Creed song.
David Shortell 3:36:29 PM
I was one of the few who showed up to see Mikey Erg in New Brunswick two Sundays ago. He’ll play the day after Frantic City atop the Asbury Hotel (210 Fifth Ave, Asbury Park). Also playing on that roof: Fetal Rage, Crazy & the Brains, Begorrah, Doug Zambon.
Brian D 3:37:07 PM
Riffage supreme
Esoterica (host) 3:37:31 PM
totally, bri
Esoterica (host) 3:38:05 PM

Brian D 3:43:42 PM
Ubu!
Esoterica (host) 3:44:08 PM
yeah!
David Shortell 3:46:24 PM
Great, Eso. I've see the Ergs many times from 2004 to their official breakup in 2008. They and Hunchback played their joint finale at a sold-out Asbury Lanes show, which is video-recorded and online somewhere. I’ve not been to any of the recent reunions however.
Esoterica (host) 3:47:24 PM
awesome, looking forward to checking them out, thanks, david
David Shortell 3:49:48 PM
I wonder if Shannon & the Clams will remember the Ergs from the time the Clams opened for them at Asbury Lanes in 2008.
David Shortell 3:51:38 PM
I saw the Out-Sect at Bond Street in Asbury Park on a Sunday night in June. They offer their own brand of barf bags, free of price.
Esoterica (host) 3:52:15 PM
lol
Esoterica (host) 3:52:24 PM
how were the out-sects
David Shortell 3:56:42 PM
Good. I too rarely see a garage band in Asbury Park. The Out-Sect are playing with the Low Spirits and the Primitive Finks at the Dolphin Tavern (1539 S Broad St, Philadelphia, PA) on September 23–the same night the Ergs, Night Birds and Samiam play the Frantic City opening night party.
Esoterica (host) 3:57:18 PM
cool, david
David Shortell 4:03:46 PM
Also on September 23, Amyl & the Sniffers will be at Terminal 5. What to do?
Andrew Gruen 4:06:46 PM
whoa! extra bloom time!
Andrew Gruen 4:10:26 PM
amyl is definitely worth seeing!
Brian D 4:11:13 PM
Hey buh hey buh hoo buh hey buh... ol man on a bridge....
Esoterica (host) 4:11:51 PM
terminal 5 is not my fave venue, but would love to see them
Brian D 4:12:31 PM
King Kong adjacent tune here
Esoterica (host) 4:13:01 PM
oh yeah
David Shortell 4:13:49 PM
I suppose the founders of Elektra Records misspelled the Greek mythical figure Electra’s name so they could trademark it. That didn’t stop Frank Miller from using that same misspelling for his own character, however.
Brian D 4:13:50 PM
A prb classic. Ol Man on the Bridge
Esoterica (host) 4:16:15 PM
oh yeah bri
Esoterica (host) 4:16:34 PM
ha, david!
Brian D 4:17:46 PM
Metric gets a great sound
Esoterica (host) 4:18:02 PM
agree, catchy tune
Daniel 4:27:42 PM
That feeling when a song reminds you of another song and you spend the rest of teh day trying to figure out what it reminds you of.
Esoterica (host) 4:28:51 PM
totally know that feeling, daniel
Daniel 4:30:41 PM
The Germans must have a word for that.
Esoterica (host) 4:31:30 PM

Esoterica (host) 4:31:32 PM
